    Best Deck Against Hab

    Hello!

I'd like to start farming Hab for the Thancred and Hildibrand & Nashu Cards. Yet I've only beaten this NPC once to get the Squall Card. Is there a specific set up that is best to use against Habs Descension Rule? And where should the certain cards be placed?

    Thank you!

You can get Thancred in Black Bush Station too from Fufulupa. I got it first win against Fufulupa.

Hab is tougher in my opinion the Hildibrand card was one of hardest to get myself from NPC battles.

The obvious way to counter descension is don't use cards which can be affected by it. But you can be a little sneaky in it if know what sort of cards he uses like if uses some with beast type element you can reduce his cards by keeping a single beast type card in your own deck to play first. The knock on effect would be your non element type cards would be the same while some of his would be worse even before he takes his turn. I cant remember what cards Hab uses though.

Well you see, this is why I want to farm Hab instead of Fufulupa. Because he drops two cards I need towards my collection and I'd eventually have to fight him for the Hildibrand & Nashu card anyway.

You want at least a 2-star deck for Hab. I think my deck at the time was Baderon Tenfingers, Gerolt, Mother Miounne, Biggs & Wedge, and Kan-E-Senna. While Kan-E-Senna was definitely helpful, the star players were Gerolt and Miounne. It's been a while since I've stopped challenging Hab (got the Hildy card), so I can't really recall step-by-step what sort of play to do. I just know I baited a lot with Gerolt in center.

Edit: Okay so, I just tried a few matches, it varied as for when I would use Miounne, but I'm 3/4 wins (1 draw) with that deck and using Gerolt to bait. I'd reclaim Gerolt depending on what cards the NPC threw after. On some occasions, Gerolt to mid first may or may not work out, such as his play with Odin to mid bottom first and if he has a Raubahn in reserve. But hey, that deck is what got me my Hildibrand card with a decent win percentage against Hab so far. I'm trying to think if I ended up using a better deck later for him... I don't think I did.

Okay so ideal 100% play win was player start: Gerolt center, CPU: Cactaur top mid, player: Miounne bottom mid, CPU: Godbert bottom right, Player: B&W mid right, CPU: Hildy top left, Player: Baderon top right, CPU: Odin/Raubahn/etc wherever, Player: Kan-E-Senna wherever

Obviously curveballs can be thrown even in that set up (particularly with cactaur not going to top mid) but that's the name of the game. Best you can hope for sometimes is a draw. Different strategies for different starts and plays, but that deck is what got me through most stuff. Feel free to change it up or whatever though, as I'm not going to assume it's the best deck for him at 2 star.

I can't give you an exact play-by-play guide, but my deck for Hab was Squall, Ultros & Typhon, Blue Dragon, Momodi Modi (Chimera here is best), and Gerolt if I recall.

This deck works perfectly! Granted I have to make some adjustments whenever the NPC places a card where I wanted. But overall works flawlessly!

I was also farming Hab yesterday, but the cards I used were Squall, Gerolt, Baderon, Momodi & Miounne. I baited with Gerolt at center just like was said above and Cactuar mostly took him above. From there I can't remember, but I usually won the match. I kept getting cards I didn't need, but I will continue until I can get him. It's just good to use cards with 7s when you're limited to 2 star decks. Biggs & Wedge, Succubus & Blue Dragon may work just as good, but I'll definitely keep Squall & Gerolt as they are key to getting my wins. Gerolt sets up & Squall steals any last minute or necessary high cards if open.
