It really depends who you're looking at. There are examples of both, really.

Seriouspost: FF, has always been pretty good about not shoving characters into super-cliche gender roles.

For every ultra-girly pure maiden (Rosa, Yuna, Minfilia) you have a bunch of awesome ass-kicking ladies (Rydia, Celes, Faris, Fang, Paine, Agrias, Tifa, Shantotto, Yda) and even examples who completely turn the pure maiden stereotype on their head (Aeris).

And you've got plenty of fabulous prettymen (Cloud, Balthier, Cecil, Locke, Zidane, Tidus, Vaan, Thancred) but plenty of rugged slabs of manliness (Basche, Barret, most of the Cids, Yang, Snow, Auron, Jecht, Hildebrand and Godbert)

There is something for everyone here

    And it is wonderful

With all respect to Sabin, I have a suggestion for something people often overlook:

    1. Boot up FF7.

    2. Leave Tifa in your party an take her on a Limit Break tour of the world and see what gets suplexed.

    Sabin has competition.

I dress my miqo in bikini outfits, run around in a yukata but I behave like a massive dudebro.

Neither masculinity nor femininity is dictated by aesthetics or the game's contents alone, as long as you feel comfortable and enjoy yourself there's nothing shameful in either. Something that a couple young children can't really grasp at the moment, assuming those nephews are under the age of 14.

Yes, this is the one part of the FFXIV aesthetic that ticks me off. I wish there was more balance to the healer sets. We're not completely without options but a lot of the sets were clearly designed around the whole stereotype of healers being female :/

Sure, not really high level equip, but DoM equip.

    Hmm, we need ilevel130+ Bliauds

I am a man and I play a female character, not because I like to look at her chesticles, or lookit the skimpies. I play one because my daughter likes to watch me play sometimes. I play a female character to show my daughter that females kick ass, whoop on baddies, and save the world just as well if not better than manly mens. I am glad the game has this girly side to it. My lil one likes to dress her up all pretty and ain't nothin' wrong with that.

16 pages now, and the OP has yet to respond to ANYTHING that has been said or directed to him in this thread... I'm starting to believe this was simply a troll thread now. Interesting topic, great debate, but I'm starting to think the OP didn't want a serious topic /shrug.
