Those "some" people would be quite wrong. Boys don't get treated any better in day to day life than girls do, in some instances they actually have it worse. Girls tend to get preferential treatment at school for example, at least where I live.
Teach your nephews not to judge a book by it's cover.
Teach them about cultural events from around the world. (That's what little lady's day is after all)

joke aside, i wonder what your nephew consider as.... manly.

Perhaps you could explain to your nephews that Little Ladies Day is one of many purely optional holiday events that happens to be based off of a real holiday in Japan. Also, I am fairly certain that many of the pretty female characters I see running around in girly outfits (with things like, y'know, flower necklaces) are in fact played by men, so this holiday is not only enjoyed by the female player base.
But honestly, I think it is a very silly complaint that seems to be rooted in the idea that "girly" things are for women only (and are somehow demeaning for men to like) while more "manly" things are unisex and can be enjoyed by both men and women.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have this urge to go make a new glamour for my man cat that involves peach blossoms . . .
At the moment, personally, I feel the game does tend to favor a more feminine aesthetic towards gear. Heavensward however is supposed to steer towards a more darker tone so we might get more masculine gear choices when that comes out.

So the Demon gear you are wearing is feminine?
Perhaps you and the poster above you should look at the wink at the end to infer a tongue-in-cheek statement.
If you really want to get into that discussion, I'd suggest that a) this is neither the time nor place, and b) given the state of human society and the dominant role of men in it, said discussion would almost certainly become an unproductive argument.
