Anima as a wandering primal that pops out of aetherytes to eat people who refuse to pay the toll!^This. And it's also the reason why Anima the FFX summon will most likely never appear as a Primal - the name is already used in FFXIV in a completely different context (even though it no longer is actually used for teleporting, the guards at the city aetherytes still mention a cost in anima when they describe how teleporting works, so it's still canon to the narrative.).
Genius.
I'd rather either new primals or expand on current anomalies like Atomos. Eden > Anima anyways :<
Oh Man the thought of a Fight with Anima is just so....Yeeeeeessss!
A Fight that draws upon the Dark aspects of everything that has happened in the Main Scenario. So many ideas regarding the fight is just Bombarding me lol. I cant picture how Anima would be able to be placed in it, or why, but the battle itself....
The "Nature" of the Theme don't have to be evil or even Scary(Though would be cool if it was scary) It could be something that draws upon ones sadness, while being slow paced (Complete Opposite of Most Primals up to this point). Something that comes to mind is Calling_To_The_Night merely as an Example. It can start as something else (Creepy version of Hymn of The Fayth) And then Transition into the slow sadness at the time of Anima's "Oblivion" Skill Cast.
Anima for most part can be centered in the Middle the Entire Time (Similar to Avatar in T8) and When Oblivion Casts, All Players are Pulled from the center (Depending on their Position on the Map) To the very Edge and then encased in Aether Crystal and "Taken to a New Map" ( Similar to How Cerberus stomach is done, except it'll be mentally while the body is still encased in the crystal). Anima will be using The Crystals to draw upon the Players Despair to Power Oblivion, and so handling the Mechanic and breaking out of the Crystal will reduce the Damage done by Oblivion.
(The Shape of the Main Map and each section determining where the players are pulled)
Now What happens on this New Map depends on Main Scenario Characters being killed off at some point as well as the section itself being suited for Specific Roles *Tank/Tank/Healer/Healer/DPSx4*. It also have to be Soloable by a Player, but have a somewhat challenging Mechanic. On the New Map the Players will face someone dear/close to the Main Character that have died, and would need to defeat them before the Oblivion Cast Goes off and Wipe the Party. Upon Defeating the Mob, the Player will return to the field, breaking out of the Crystal and Reducing Oblivions Damage by 10% (Damage is % Based) to a Maximum of 80% from 150%*Overkill*, meaning if More than 2 people Mess up/Fail to break out, it's a Wipe Regardless of How good your/everyones gear is. This would also mean people not in the right positions during the Cast and sucked into another area also Risk Wiping the Party ( 2 People in A, and 2 people in B = 2 Sections unattended to = Oblivion doing 90% Damage to the Entire Party. Similar scenario with 3 people in B = 3 Sections unattended to = Oblivion doing 100% Party HP Damage *Instant Wipe* ). People Killed in the Crystal or unable to break out before the Cast will Remain in the Crystal throughout the rest of the fight (Similar to being knocked off Arena in Titan or Leviathan) And will Power Anima's Overall Damage for the rest of the fight (Max Being 20% since well...3 crystals unbroken = Wipe to Oblivion).
New Map Mob (Depending on position Crystalized)
A- Moenbryda (/w Tank Suited Mechanic)
B- ???? (/w Tank Suited Mechanic)
C- ???? (/w Healer Suited Mechanic)
D- ???? (/w Healer Suited Mechanic)
E- ???? (/w DPS Suited Mechanic)
F- ???? (/w DPS Suited Mechanic)
G- ???? (/w DPS Suited Mechanic)
H- ???? (/w DPS Suited Mechanic)
Thats one of the Scenarios that come to mind when thinking about fighting Anima lol.

I'm pretty sure the lightning bias was Square Enix's desperate attempts to force us to like her as much as Cloud. But I think they've finally gotten the picture that nobody wants to see her ever again, if the sales of her last badly-written adventure is any indication.FFX has barely been in this game at all, despite the fact it's nearly as popular as FFVII was and has received 2 editions of HD Remasters on PS3 and upcoming on PS4. I don't get what Yoshi has against FFX but after shoving Lightning in our faces over and over again the past year and a half, they could at least give the tiniest of nods to the other FF title besides FFVII which is the most popular among fans.
Anyway, Final Fantasy X doesn't really have much that stands out in terms of specific lore. Yuna's summons are an exception, as Anima was pretty awesome, but I think they'd probably opt to put the Magus Sisters in before anything, since they'd likely make a much more interesting 8-man party battle.
I could see Anima showing up, but probably not a primal trail. Probably a boss, similar to FFVIII's Diablos...which i really wish was a primal trial. I think it would fit very well with the whole creepy Edda ordeal.

I saw this topic and immediately thought of the Vessels of Anima from Xenosaga. XD
Yes, I channel KOS-MOS quite a lot....
Yes so much to Anima. Such an epic beast I'm shocked she hasn't become a staple of the series considering it was so iconic from just a popular entry into the series.
I agree with all the people saying FFX has received little attention when it's been one of the most popular games in the series.
Anemone_Valesti I feel like you've thought of this before xD
Anima was a really big part of 1.0 but then SE killed it...
I like this idea! Especially with a creepy remake of the Hymn... it would be wicked![]()
