The 2 retainers you get for free will always be first and second in your list the first retainer you buy will be third and the second retainer you buy will be fourth in your list. If you decide to only pay for one retainer then your retainer listed at the fourth place in your list will not be accesible for you anymore. So you will always know which retainer you lose you just cannot decide which one it is out of all four (I hope this wa smore clear than my post before)
