Triple triad's MGP when you reach a draw

So I've been playing triple triad since 8th of march and I realize that when you reach a draw with your NPC opponent (i'have yet to try with a PC), you do not regain your full entry fee (mgp). Isn't that contradictory of what a draw is? Unless I'm winning, I'm basically losing mgp. I don't really mind it because the loss of a draw is very low but either way, I wouldn't mind a change to reflect a real draw (nothing lost and nothing won). Or like in Final Fantasy VIII, a forced rematch (free of charge), until a winner have been decided.

I have noticed this, seems like a draw is just a less penalizing loss.

The reason it's not a refund is that it's weighted based on the difficulty of the NPC. NPCs that cost 10-15 MGP or less to challenge give less on a draw than the fee, but not that much less. NPCs that cost 20 MGP give you back pretty much the same as the fee on a draw, and ones that cost 25-30 give back more than your fee. You actually get ~47 MGP back from the ones with a 30 MGP fee on a draw.

By weighting them this way, regardless of what's more "realistic," it makes it easier to make a profit from the harder NPCs, which is great in my opinion.

I'm glad TT isn't "realistic" with the MGP payouts, like causing you to lose 90 MGP when losing to a top tier NPC (the net amount you win on a win, 120-30) instead of losing only 13 MGP (you "win" 17 MGP on a tie, and spend 30 on the entry fee).

That said, I wish I could raise the stakes, so to speak, to get more MGP faster but risk more.
