    Monstrosity in ffxiv? =D

How would you react seeing a giant crab running around killing mobs around horizon? Maybe pestis destroying garlean
mor Dhona. How would you feel taking control of a sabatonder and thousand needling your foes???

Some of you who played XI(or still play like me) know of "monstrosity" but for those of you who don't, it's a wonderfully fun little thing added to final Fantasy XI where you basically become a mob. You can level yourself up, unlock skills and abilities, unlock bigger and more powerful mobs to level, and even fight other people and party's as said mob.

Picture yourself, taking the form of a goobue, fighting a party of 4, Or of a giant crab the size of the fate one in Costa del sol. Or even other big and small mobs. Becoming powerful enough to Fight a full party, or even an alliance. Giving a new challenge to players, new solo fun, and new fun for pvp.

The main reason I think this would be good in XIV is because it would add something fun and different for people. not only coming into XI late in the life time and thus very Un-used, when it could be/been hugely successful, as most of the population has dwindled to those of us that are left, but with the graphical beauty of XIV, this could be something crazy. And as rewards, available to both people wanting to be a mob, and people who want to beat mob players, we could have mob styled glamour gear, and maybe fun mob mounts.

I'm all for new and different types of content, but I think this would be better off a few years down the line. They are still putting in features to lay the ground work for future additions and I would rather them focus on smoothing out what we have rather than adding a new system like this.

I have to agree with this. While the feature you mentioned sounds interesting, and actually really fun, I'd be happier seeing it implemented down the road in a few years or so. As Ryans said, we're still getting the a good solid foundation for the game laid down and going. Once that is good to go, then we can see some more types of content and features like this!

What makes monstrosity fun in FFXI :
    - Customisation. but if the devs of FFXIV have one day the good idea to add customisation somewhere in the game, they better add it to "human" character first.
    - Personality. In FFXI, each monster type have distinct ability/traits that actually play a role in their dangerousness. In FFXIV, trash mobs are trash mobs.

Thus, if they were to add monstrosity in FFXIV now, it would just be for appearances.
(like everything else in the game, indeed...)

There's some FATEs in where mobs will attack each other, though few and far between.
I would like to see more depth to the random Dodos AI.

It'll be quite annoying I'm sure. Especially if they're blocking a merchant

I don't think they even support Monstrosity over in ff11 anymore, so I think it would need a few more years before we something like this.
