An Open Letter to SE: The win trading on Triple Triad Tournament must stop.

Dear Square Enix Dev team,

Coming from a player who absolutelly loves Triple Triad, please fix those totally unprofessional Tournament rules. Its unfair, killing any competition, forces you to do the same if you want to have any chance at winning.

I am completely shocked seing what is going on with Triple Triad Tournament. At the moment there are players who are getting boosted by their FC's with 15/15 wins just to get to the top (or even buying their way through with gil from players ), killing any fun or competition Triple Triad Tournament provides.

I like competition, fun, struggle and unpredictability to win a rare prize, not just win trades that kill all the Tournament's purpose. Its a Tournament where "the best players" get rewarded, not the best win traders or people who pay tons of gil for it, so please, fix it or just remove it completely because it is utterly frustrating.

It was an obvious scenario that anyone could predict when you're able to pick opponents in a tournament. Only what 3? can get the Lightning card. Of course people are going to "cheat." As far as the tournament goes it's working as intended.

Edit: Really all you can do is participate and get your Shantotto card down the line.

That or they could've limited it to NPC matches since NPC's are a thing anyway. Also the whole point of "All Open" ruins any chance of getting high scores from skill because you are more likely than not to end in a draw if your opponent isn't using a vastly inferior deck (aka you aren't winning because of skills) or being unable to do math. The failure of the tournament is two-fold right now. All Open and the ability to just win-trade to victory.

Win trading is a player thing. It's not SE's fault that people trade things so that everyone they participate with can have a chance at whatever prize is being offered. If SE did manage to figure out some way to prevent win trading from happening, it would have to effect even the player vs player matches...

And here's a note, I trade wins with friends because a group of us don't like TT. We still want points for Gold Saucer and TT is just another way to do it. So we trade the wins and get what we need from it.

In the tournament, if there's a way that people can profit from it, it will be found. Some people want the gameplay element of the tournament like OP and others just want the goods.

Triple Triad tournaments could have been amazing.

But no - in their current form they're a complete joke and will be dominated by win-traders. Doubt SE will do anything, they still to this day freely allow players to win-trade in Wolves Den.

Make the tournaments against all NPCs in the world. Give the Lightning card to all participants and make the 1-3 ranks get a lot of MGP.

Actually... that is a better idea.

Lightning card: Participate (fully) in X amount of Triple triad tournaments. (Maybe 10 tournaments? You need to play all 15 games or it wont count)
Change tournament prizes to nice chunks of MGP

As it stands now:

I like to think optimistically - that people who already win their card from the tournament will be so good as to not enter the next time the tournament offers that prize; but realistically I know some will not be so courteous.

Sigh, when Triple Triad came out I was so excited at how for a change, some new content couldn't be exploited for gil (see Eternal Bond, dyes etc.). Then this thrend at the tournament began.

I hate to take away the PvP Triple Triad aspect of the tournament, but if this is how people are, I see really no other way.
