    Post 1.19: Do you realize the potential if stats work?

    What if after 1.19 with the removal of Physical Levels and adjustments, stats actually work?

    Would that mean that as a PUG I could raise my Earth to 174, put earth materia on all my gear and do insane and unavoidable damage with Seismic Shock?

    Or a MRD max out Wind stat, add wind materia, and sport a Storm Ax then wreck havoc on every mob in sight with Iron Tempest?

    Could this mean the post 1.19 CON will be unleashed as a true mana burning nuking wizard maniac?

    Stats do currently work, although point for point, the effects are very subtle.

    I think it was also mentioned that each class will be getting less overall stats, unless I'm mistaken. They're not gonna fix them to the point where they break game balance, so I think you might be a little overly optimistic.

    Either way I can't wait. This will mean that stats from gear will actually make a difference now, not to mention class specific stats.

    I think what the OP is trying to get across is that since stats are so watered down and they don't make that much of an effect, if stats DO begin to matter and players find ways to stack particular stats will we see incredible numbers.

    Personally, I think so. Right now the game is balanced so that a player with 5 50s can still be on the same level as a player with only 1 50. This means that one MRD could have 174 STR and the other could have only 100 and in order to make things fair the 174 STR MRD can't be doing triple the damage.

    Now that it will be corrected that, for example, every out-of-the-box r50 MRD has 100 STR there will be no need to balance one MRD to next. In turn this means if MRD A uses gear, materia, skills, etc to push his STR up to 150 (150% what it should be for his level) he will be able to see a very dramatic increase in damage.


    EDIT: I just wanted to add in that I'm expected to see something similar to Chi Blast stacking from XI when we can stack elemental stats. Back when a MNK would load up on as much MND as possible + 15 Boost to get off a several thousand damage Chi Blast lol

    Unfortunately, the one thing I'm pretty sure of is that it's going to crush my crafting ability or at least noticeably result in a lot more fails. Level 50 with a bunch of rank ~25ish crafting jobs.

    Actually I'm fairly certain STR/DEX etc stats only boost your HQ rate, and they have nothing to do with success.

    holyomen, I don't know how that would work out, But it would be neat if you could do that.

    I was under the impression that with phy levels gone stats would be automatic for each job. Ex. gld would have highest vit. Am I wrong?

    Hmm, I just reread the most recent Letter from the Producer, and it seems you are correct.

    From patch 1.19 till patch 1.20 it seems stats will be automatically distributed based on character level. It won't be until patch 1.20 that we will be able to reallocate them ourselves again.

    Physical bonus revisions -NEW-

    Implementation of automated character development based on class level

    We will implement a system whereby players can voluntarily allocate attribute points to each class in patch 1.20. This will take place alongside class balance adjustments.
    As a person who voted for class-specific stats, I'm welcoming this change, even if it's just temporary.
