If I'm getting a draw, why am I still losing?

I've never understood this about Triple Triad. I've been grinding for MGP on Indolent Imperial for the past week or so, but I never really understood why I'm paying this NPC 30 MGP to play him, but only get back 18 MGP if neither of us win or lose. I'm fine with owing 12 for losing, that much makes sense. What doesn't make sense is losing MGP even though I didn't lose the match.

People try to justify this by saying "at least a draw is better than a loss", but if I'm losing MGP in either scenario, I'm just picking a lesser of the evils at that point. Hopefully they will consider making adjustments to this in the future so a draw doesn't take way MGP from you and you simply get your full 30 (or however much the NPC charges) MGP back as if the match never happened (since there wasn't a winner or a loser).

I thought you got something like 48 MGP back on a draw which is a net gain...

And consider the 30 you pay in an "ante."

Ya if I remember right it was 18 on a loss, 48 for a win, and triple digits for a win against the imperial

Yep. 18 for a loss (net loss 12), 48 for a draw (net gain 18) and 120 for a win (net gain 90). No problem here.

Seems to be a bug. Draw should give you 48. Write a ticket.

You pay 30 but get back 48 if you draw, only 18 of that is profit. It is around 120 for a win on that one so 30 fee, get back 120 equals 90 profit. I can't recall what get if lose since I do not recall last time I lost to an NPC.

Yes it's 48 for a draw. Nice thread to complain about something that isn't even the case

Ya know, I really wish they'd just give us a flat number instead of doing it this way, lol. It would be much easier to understand if it was:

Win = 90 MGP (instead of showing 120)
Loss = 12 MGP (instead of showing 18)
Draw = 18 MGP (instead of showing 48)

In regards to Loss, this makes it look as though you *gained* 12 MGP, when it should be -12 MGP. I guess they don't want to include minus signs everywhere.

However doing it the way they do, entices you to play. See the perceived "low" number for when you "loose" and the perceived "HIGHER" numbers for when you win/draw. These make you think you are getting something and keep you playing, if you loose, it's not that much, so I'll go again.
