Today 19/03/2015 when to my local EB game and ask about pre orders Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward he said only standard editions info in the system and I ask about collector's edition ,he said "if you put $50AUD as pre orders deposit you are automatic upgrade to collector's edition" and also when in to JB hi fi ask about collector's edition and exclusive to EB only.
for putting $50 as pre orders deposit on ,best is to make sure to call or go in the store when is on the system or eb website
That's nice if you can make it to the shop, which I can't (two hours drive to the nearest store, not being able to drive makes that hard, yeah?).
only way i will order through eb is if its for a boxed ce
The more I think of it, the more I believe the reason for the holdup with preorders for the physical CE in Australia is not because of EB Games or SE, but our stupid federal government - specifically, the Classification Board. Before a game can be legally sold in Australia (even preordered), it has to first be submitted to the censors in the Classification Board for approval, a process that can take a lengthy amount of time. Now, the standard edition has clearly been approved, but the CE hasn't yet (as shown on the Heavensward teaser site if accessed from Australia - images of the the standard edition have an Australian Classification Board 'Check Classification' placeholder rating on the cover, while the CE cover just has the European PEGI rating instead.)
So why the holdup? The answer to that, I suspect, is in the CE package itself - namely, the bluray disc included in the package that features main scenario cutscenes from ARR. No doubt the Classification Board actually needs to check this to ensure it can be allowed into Australia (presumably regarding it as a 'film' - films being classified under a slightly different system to games), which naturally holds the whole thing up.
Of course, I have no proof that this is indeed the case other than speculation, but bureaucratic red tape is as good a reason as any.

^ this is most likely the real reason the CE is not available yet lost count of how many games i had to import due to some content not being approved by our classifcations board til content got fixed or removed completely = =
EB said their buyers are still in negotiations with SE vendors
My local EB is taking preorders at the moment, but it's just in the system as the expansion, no news on whether they're going to sell the physical CE or not. I might ask some of the other shops I buy games from if there's any chance that they're going to get the physical CE, I know a couple import games from the UK/EU, and they might import in the CE.
Does anyone know any Brisbane based companies (or companies that are reliable about careful packaging when shipping interstate) that import from the UK for reasonable rates?
It has a nice little R18 classification on the AUS SE website. >:3
Question.... why would you want to do that when we are getting the Boxed CE here anyways?
Then again you might be after a plush moogle or something... I dunno :3Greetings,
We can confirm that the physical (boxed) Collector's Edition will definitely be available at certain retailers (EB Games included) in Australia and New Zealand.
Please rest assured that we will share additional information on retailers and pre-order start dates when available.

It's more of a general question, since a lot of games never make it here at all (I'm still waiting on Grandia 3 to show up in PSN or something eventually) but I'm also extremely cynical regarding any plans and become more so the longer I wait before acting on them. There are many things that can go wrong. EB may not get enough in stock or may charge a not so small fortune for them, just for instance. It's better to know the options available than to sit here feeling helpless and just waiting for something that could be very disappointing, and then it may be too late to pursue other routes anyhow.
