Hello fellow Gobbie!
While the people that have responded have made very valid points they failed to mention one thing, which is what I will point out.
The thing I would like to point out is that SE eventually plans to phase out PS3 support.
I believe that Yoshida said that ps3 support continues up until 3.0 but beyond that he isn't sure. He did mention that ps3 support will be phased out in favor of the ps4 because the ps4 is, in fact, a better system.
I plan on doing the upgrade either way, I'm just trying to wait till I have something else to play in the meantime at this point due to the fact I won't likely be able to play for days. : /
I have read YoshiP explained for the PS3>PS4 upgrade previously but I can't find the article now.
I remember the reason was about compliance with Japan's law.
Thus if you intent to keep the PS3 version, you can just buy the PS4 version and link to existing account.
being australian i expected a good 12 hour download cause our internet speeds are dreadful rofl.. was actually shocked when took less then an hour stared at the screen for a while in disbelief :P
From what I understand, the US has some of the worst internet of most 'first world' countries. I can't even get internet from one of our "good" internet providers either due to where I live. So believe it or not, your internet is very likely faster than mine I'd think.
All in all, I think I may have figured out a workaround. I'm hoping I can just make a new SE account, download the trial on that, and use that trial to get the updates done. Then transfer and ignore the download time.
doubtful cause australias internet is ranked 76th in the world :P lmao sooo yeah you get the picture xD they are supposedly doing major upgrade to improve it currently but nt available where i live atm so cant comment on thatFrom what I understand, the US has some of the worst internet of most 'first world' countries.
