Hi all,
I have made a Heavensward Preparation Guide with my advice about what to do between now and the expansion here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVlA5jYdRoI
1) Pre-order the game, starting 16 March 2015.
2) Save Gil for teleports, repairs, any new requirements they add in for flying mounts etc. Do not allow yourself to be conned on the market board.
3) Level all classes, crafts, gatherers to 50 that you will play in the expansion for the sake of having it ready. For crafters and gatherers you should only gear it out to the maximum if you intend to make a profit before the expansion as all of the gear will get replaced after the expansion.
4) To avoid being overwhelmed on launch day, pick a goal and stick to it. For example my current plan is level a Disciple of War to 60 by doing the 3.0 main scenario quest, explore the new zones, uncover all the zone maps and attune myself to all new aetherytes for teleport. Having a current class to 60 first will give more bonus experience via the armoury system to the new classes should you choose to level up Dark Knight, Machinist or Astrologian.
5) Do not drop your current main job to be the 'best dark knight/machinist/astrologian in the world' just because its the new class. Take your time to decide if its worth switching to.
6) Join a Free Company and make friends to play the expansion with. MMO's are a lot more fun when played with a group rather then solo. If you can't find a Free Company on your server you are more than welcome to join Mithrie's Heaven FC on Sargatanas server (http://mithrie.enjin.com)
7) Book holiday from work from 19th June 2015 for a week or two from now as 3 months before you are more likely for your employer to accept your holiday request. If you're still in school keep attending class!
8) Stock up on Retainer Ventures as they will be useful during the expansion to level your retainers to level 60. Who knows what weird and wonderful items they will discover for us in the expansion and also if you have gathering retainers they can help you gather items need to level up your crafts to 60.
9) Cap your Grand Company Seals. Grand Company's are very likely to still exist in the expansion and might offer useful items used to help you level to 60. You can watch my guide to get 100k Grand Company seals per hour which will let you cap the seals super fast here: http://youtu.be/JSxHbdaadFk
10) Watch my live stream at http://www.twitch.tv/mithrie every day at 8 pm UK, 4 pm EST (3 pm after 29 March 2015), 1 pm PST (noon PST after 29 March 2015) for advice and guide about the game should you be new, returning or just want to hang out with a lot of different players from various servers.
