That reminds me of something I said last night while standing at the Ul-Dah aetheryte surrounded by an army of gil-seller blm bots and people were confused and kept asking what was going on in chat.

The sudden large increase in rmt bots is really a lead up to Before the Fall pt.2, where it is revealed that the Syndicate is actually behind all the rmt in the game and that they are doing this in order to take over the Eorzean economy to consolidate power and overthrow Nanamo, gaining control of Ul-Dah which is just the first major stepping stone in their bid for world domination.

That actually sounds like an awesome idea.

Even if the IRL part of it couldn't be done for whatever reasons, I'd like to see the in-game part being done for sure. We're moving on to Ishgard, yet the homeless around Ul'dah are just in the same shape as they were when we started 2.0 - surely, things could at least start to change by now? Wouldn't mind sidequests about that, instead of the completely random moogle carrier ones for example (or even more so - instead of Hildibrand, but that's just me).

hear hear, though as far as an ingame organization, I know that the brass blades are supposed to also act as relief workers for the Ul'dahn refugees, and I'm pretty sure the Crystal Braves also work towards that end as well. It would be nice though to have the server able to work as a team to combat it, or something of that nature. It would however mess with quests where their plight is a part of the lore for the quest though...

I don't care about any Hyur or Elezen children, and that's all they bothered to model in this game.

Maybe when we see some Lalafell, Miqote, Au Ra, and Roegadyn kids...maybe i'll care.

Lalafellen don't have children, we're born out of eggs.

I'll tell you why the refugees are still suffering, it's for the same reason we still need charities irl, in game the moneterists of Ul'Dah could easily feed and home the refugees with very little actual impact in their wealth, they could still live and would still be the richest people in Eorzea, however they don't see why they should. The same as the richest 2% of people in the world could solve world poverty and have no impact on their quality of life, but for whatever reason they give probably less than 1% of their income to charity forcing the poorer people to give, speaking in terms relative to income levels, more than twice as much. Maybe there are charities helping the victims of the calamity, they just haven't been mentioned and are probably run by the poorer people of Eorzea.
