No Tourny Reward fix?

Your original comment did nothing good, helped no-one, not even SE or the rest of the player base. They already said trying to fix it for future ones...it was like metaphorically you saw an old lady fall down in the street and stood there and laughed saying "stupid old lady". You never even offered any suggestion as to how to fix the situation in the comment so it would be like in previous example you never even said to the old lady to look where shes walking or helped her get back on her feet, you just laughed, pointed and called her stupid. How about you help the rest of us come up with better ideas of making the tournament better for all instead of just calling SE stupid. If you cannot come up with any suggestions then take part and discuss other peoples, helping improve theirs perhaps. SE is going to probably look at these threads and take on board suggestions so maybe put some out there instead of just pointing and laughing a them.

I honestly don't expect SE to make any sweeping changes at this point. The damage has been done. That said, the very least they could do is make a formal public apology & acknowledge how big of a mess this was. Its a big deal. The raid equivalent of something like this would be if a brand new raid was released (lets say Alexander) & players found a way to circumvent the encounter, were rewarded for it, & then the loot they acquired was not available to anyone else in the game. If this happened, how would it be received? People would be outraged & probably cancel subs. So quit sweeping it under the carpet SE, own up to it, apologize to the community & find a way to make it up to us.

The biggest problem with the Lightning card being a tournament prize, in my opinion, is that it makes it too extremely rare for what it is. So we have four prize cards, right? Lightning was this past week, no tournament this week, Cecil is next week, then no tournament, then another card, then no tournament, then another card, then no tournament, and then we finally get back to Lightning. So if that assumption is correct, and my quick count of weeks on my calendar is correct, then the tournament starting April 28 will be the next chance for Lightning. That's almost two months before anyone can even have a chance to get it, and then only three people can get it.

I like the idea mentioned about of having more tournaments.

Yes a single character can win the card multiple times but only in separate tournaments. On alts they can win more than one in a single tournament by having their alts take up other positions in the ranking but they can only add to their packs once on any. If already got it and added to their packs then gets same treatment as any other duplicate card in that can only throw away or sell back to the card trade NPC. But yes you can win multiple cards in the same tournament if use alts to win one on each especially if they cheat on them too buying wins and being in collusion with their friends/FC members and yes you can win more than one card on a single character spread out over multiple tournaments, you can only add to pack once on any character though.
