Yoshi promoted?

It was actually only a matter of time before he got promoted. Japanese companies promote based more on seniority than actual merit, so while it COULD be recognition of him doing a good job, it could also be to distinguish him from the younger developers of other projects.

Ahhh I always love it when Westerners throw around their ideas of what Eastern cultures are like based on what little they know..

I thought he was already sitting on SE's board anyway 0_o read something a while ago about how his "Live Letter" idea of been more open with the customers on the state of game ruffled a few people but his positition meant it wasnt really challenged.

Anyway Congrats if it is indeed a promotion certainly earned it, for that matter the whole ARR Team has earned a promotion or at least a raise.

Well, all that tells us is he was ranking enough and at least somewhat influential. If he was actually on the board of directors, that's big enough that I think it would have been pointed out before.

Sorry should edited to mention I thought was already on their Executive Board when he took over FFXIV 1.0 and started work 2.0/ARR.
