So here is the deal;
I've been dealing with this issue for literally months. I have contacted my ISP (Time Warner Cable) to double check throttling or P2P issues, I've traced hops, checked my ping in multiples (53-62ms), my graphical FPS and internet connections are both solid. Other programs don't disconnect. Other games don't disconnect.
Dungeons are absolutely impossible with the amount of lag spiking.
This problem occurs at any point during dungeons or during fates; regardless of party makeup or leveling solo. Any time of day, peak or non-peak hours. One of two things will constantly happen; constantly being easily every 45m-1hr of gameplay.
#1.r0; snap back.
At any given point during a battle/dungeon, any information being received back from the server drops immediately to zero without a single warning. Nothing out of the ordinary prompts this; it will happen at random. FPS and system specs are running perfectly fine-- meaning that there is no dithering of graphical issues. This notes specifically that this is not system related-- it's connection and/or server related. However, no characters or the monsters will be moving. Everyone is simply standing there with their weapon out doing nothing. Until the server finally catches up all at once, blasting you with a buildup of lagged information like a rubber band snapped in your face, which is a sudden and jarring spasm of character animation, particles, and players zipping across the screen. Rinse repeat.
It is terrible during fates;
Worst in DF dungeons.
This is absolutely impossible to not only play, but to heal as well. HP bars don't move or indicate that anyone is taking damage because the server hasn't sent that information back to you yet. The best you can do is spam cures and hope to god you're not standing in anything going off by the time it catches up. Out of MP? No clue. How's the tank's HP? No idea. By the time everyone has unfrozen and shot across the screen at mach 16, you and your party are already dead. Good luck dodging any important attacks (bombs, titan landslides, AoEs, etc.) Information is being sent steadily; but the receiving will tank to 0--raise--then tank to 0 again at its own volition. It's horrific.
The other being 90k.
And I won't discuss that because there are hundreds if not thousands of players that, like myself, have this issue. There are plenty of other threads about it.
Has anyone else experienced this?
