Who else's not looking forward to Dark Knight?

I main tank right now, and already play it like a DPS. I don't know if I could possibly be more DPS-like as Dark Knight, but I'm willing to step up to the challenge!

On a side note, does anyone else here read DRK as 'dork'?!?

As a DPS who will be "flocking" to this class, I must say I am very excited for its release. I've been waiting for a tank class that interests me since launch, as I have zero interest in the Pally or Warrior. I'm actually excited to finally give tanking a proper try, and I am determined to learn how to do it well.

If DK isn't your cup of tea, fine. But don't be a dick to people who are excited for it just because you don't like the class. Give some of us a chance to actually learn how to play the class properly before you decide we all suck. Anyone who understands the mechanics of party roles will know that a tank and a DPS are totally different. You're not the only person in the game who understands this.

I'm mildly intrigued. I'll level it and maybe I'll love, maybe not. But as for being terrified of idiots tanking in my dungeons? I'll be leveling dark so if there's a stupid dark in my parties it's my fault. Don't have to worry about other tanks if you are the tank.

Heh, I only play as a DPS-Tank when I'm out in the open fields, OTing a HM primal, or in the Main Scenario dungeons when someone else stepped up as MT.

Speaking of DPSing as a Tank, I still can't help but have this feeling that DRK is going to be the most DPS based job of the 3 Tanks, while still having all the essential functions of proper tanking through its abilities and traits, resulting in PLD's being the most defensive, DRK's being the most offensive, and WAR's being somewhere in-between.

But... too early to tell right now of course.

DRK was actually the reason I started playing this game. I even started off as a tank so I could learn as much about tanking as possible in the meantime.

I don't think people will treat it like a DPS job, so I'm not really worried about it. I actually think the majority of DRKs will be people who already play a tank, like myself. Can't wait for DRK.

I hope most people don't treat DRK as a dps. I'm just glad that DRK will use MP instead of TP; it will put bard players to work, instead of just using one song 24/7.

Remember when NIN was the hype job?

Now i'm seeing the usual BLMs and BRDs back. And among the trashy NINs, there are actually some who really excel at it.

Same with DRK. Play it, learn it, love it or hate it, it will eventually go back to a balanced WAR, PLD and DRK proportions. Maybe a bit more for PLD.

Im more in the vanilla vanity thing.

If DRK can vanity slim blades or curved blades, then I will give a deep look into skills and overall gameplay, aka try it myself.
If better than PLD, then DRK would be my main.
