One that note, you don't see DRGs holding their spears 90% of the way up the shaft. They hold it about halfway. Better balance, heavier thrust.
Side Note: However, as a trained combat artist in real life, you CAN hold a spear 90% up the shaft and use it as a fighting technique. In fact there are three "grips" used in spear wielding, center top and bottom and being able to transition between all three fluidly makes for a very deadly opponent.

Main note: Really the only thing silly--like already mentioned--is that the handles are perfectly cylindrical which would interfere with being able to grip it well (think the more cylindrical the stronger your personal power to grip something is) which is why in the real life images you see two rods that have an expanding center so when you grip it it is easier to hold without it "flopping" around. That being said you do no need two bars to accomplish this feat the bar just need not be a perfect cylinder. Now, will S-E fix this? Probably not because it might have something to do with hand vs weapon proportions or something along those lines.

(Still if possible to change, I support it.)

If I'm not mistaken, physically the knuckle weapons need to be either attachments to a closely fit grip that forms an extension of your knuckles, or they need to be attachments on full gauntlets---the gauntlet itself is the fist/knuckle weapon. Weapons where the grip is just a rod/straight handle, the weapon itself will swivel in your grip when you strike.

Yet many of the fist weapons in this game have just a straight handle with the striking ends attached to the outside ring that does not come in contact with your fist. They really don't look credible.

I'd say the best solution would be to develop gauntlet type weapons that has a model replacing the glove model, and while "sheathed" the glove models are shown.

Notice how it has two bars for grip. But many in-game models only have 1 bar, if I'm not mistaken.

Exactly. Please at least give MNK a good relic this time.

Oh god yes, some of the monk weapons look great, but then you get down to the handles and think..why? If I wore these like a pair of gloves it would be WAY better.

It's weird, because most of the low-level stuff is all actual fist weapons that just look like brass knuckles with varying degrees of fancy bits on them. Those I like. These endgame ones I do not.

Need to steal an idea from WOW and have some super-minimalist fist weapons that are just brass knuckles or boxing tape that you can use for transmog purposes.

I have issues with most of the over sized weapons, many of them make sense on more cartoony designs like in WoW, but the models in this have reasonably 'realistic' proportions. When I don't grip something like curtana correctly I have an issue.

There are a couple of horas ingame that suit your description. What I'm confused is what is the primary means of damage the monk should be dealing with weapons. They're literally all over the place when they're designed to either be for striking, stabbing or straight up clawing. The last two doesn't even suit most of the much animations either.

The majority of them are based on the larger and some times longer Katars:

What you're suggesting is more on line with the much smaller Push daggers/knives or shanks:

However, all the weapons in the game are very oversized to make them look more dynamic. Otherwise they loose much of the detail and gravitas if they were all scaled down to their proper sizes. But I would like to see more, knuckle and glove/gauntlet styled h2h weapons just for the variety.

This bothers me SO MUCH on almost every single monk weapon!
It looks bad and makes no sense
