PC Launcher not allowing game to open Halp!!

So, I normally play this game on my PS4, but seeing as it was stolen last year I haven't been able to play in almost 8 months. Bought the PC version so I could at least play SOMETHING. Had to make a new account because it says my old one doesn't exist and a bunch of changes have been made. Fine. Did it. Spent 3 hrs downloading the game and played a few hours last night.

Got home from work today to play again, logged in on the game and clicked the PLAY button. Screen goes to open up and IMMEDIATELY minimized itself to my taskbar. Clicked on the game thinking maybe because I'm playing in full screen I need to edit it to window to open it up? That's great, except I can't get INTO it to change the settings.

The music is playing in the background and I've 'listened' to the intro video play 5x now on loop.

Am I missing something here??? Why is it not letting me open the game window, and when it does, it flashed black for a second and immediately minimizes itself again.

    Getting really ticked off here.

I've restarted my computer twice, and even gone into the task manager to try and MAXIMIZE the game or pull to front. And nothing works. It flickers a couple times like it's going to open and then just minimizes itself again.

First make sure you are running the game with admin rights, most home users user admin logins for their main login but you never know. Second search for a file called "ffxiv.cfg" in your documents section. This has all the game operation settings in it. I suggest you rename it to "ffxiv.old" so it will rebuild itself when you open the launcher next, if you still have an issue this file was not the issue and you may need to try a few other things.

(You rename that file instead of deleting it so you can change the name back if it was not the issue).
