    Ishgardian Elezen?

I've been mulling over the potential to add a third subtype to Elezen with Ishgard (since this is partially at least an Elezen expansion storywise) and had come up with a concept for the stats based around the idea that the Elezen there are distinctly more militaristic essentially in the vein of Catholic medieval knights:

    STR+3
    DEX-2
    VIT+1
    INT-2
    MND-2
    PIE+2

I think this would also serve to satisfy the people who played Elvaan in FFXI, and add some context to the martial prowess we'll see unfold between the Temple Knights, Dragoons, and other melee units being employed in Ishgard. I also feel that this would be relatively easy to implement as you don't really need to create much in terms of new art assets. It's frustrating that the race who created the job doesn't have much room in terms of playing it optimally, especially for someone coming from the expectations set by the San d'Orian Elvaan. (No doubt the basis for Ishgard.)

As a side note, I think this option would play excellently into the upcoming Dark Knight job as well which would further establish them as knights proper and you can even pitch the expansion as adding a second race with marketing if you want to be sly. Dragoon would also obviously be covered by this which I think is only fair. Increased PIE would reflect the religious fervor exhibited by the obvious Catholic overtones.

I certainly think given the differences in the Wildwood and Duskwights physiology due to lifestyle changes, the Ishgard Elezen would also be distinct. Even if this were added as a patch I'd be happy to wait, likely along with many of the XI ilk who miss being heavy hitters or who want to have a far more unique background for the elvish species than the more typical lore that makes up the Duskwight(Drow) and Wildwood(LOTR). Not to mention the Ishgard people will likely be spilling out into the population now as we've seen with that runaway in the main story quest line in much greater numbers.

If i remember right they going to add hybrid race to the game. Like hume mix with elezen now as to getting a other sub-clean like ishgardian i don't see that happening. When they add one thing to a race they have to do it for all others due to the fact that people would cry why only elezen.

Also the ishgardian are pretty much the same type of race from the rest of eorzea.

I can't find the post unfortunately, but it was said that mixed races do exist and that we may see some in the future.

It's at least been confirmed that it's possible for there to be crossbreed individuals. A hybrid race might be taking it a bit far, though, because it's apparently pretty rare.

This post is from the 1.0 forums, but:

Answer: Yes, but it is rare...and often difficult due to cultural differences, etc. which is why you don't see it often. The lore team has informed me that there will be future quests/events that touch on this and other issues, such as love and marriage.

Others can get theirs when we reach their homeland, just so happened to hit Elezen first. And there's already unfair stuff like Hyur having 6 faces so I don't see the issue.

Eorzea is elezen homeland so from that logic we should have had 3 clans for elezen from day one of ARR.

I don't see them being more sub clans for the race i think it just better to add a new one with two clans.

One of the original descriptions of the clans said that both the Wildwood and Duskwight descended from the "first elezen" that settled the forest 900 years ago [~672(6A)], 400 years before the exodus from Gelmorra and establishment of Gridania, when the schism into two clans occurred. If the Dragonsong War started 1,000 years ago [~577(6A)], the Ishgardians seem to go back to these "first elezen." However, another interpretation might be that the Ishgardians are technically Wildwood, since they aren't an adaptive divergence like the Duskwight seem to be - similar to how the Plainfolk appear to be Lalafell reflective of their southern island plains origin and the Dunesfolk divergent in adaption to Thanalan.
