In the meantime before Heavensward

I myself am pretty much done with the game untill June now. So I decided to downloaded 6.1 of WoW and see how entertaining that is. I got minions to train and horde to slay. Have fun sitting in the mist spamming party finder.

Enjoy clearing all content in 2-3 weeks.That's how long 6.0 lasted for me. WoWs fun days are many years in the past.

The thing with wow is it has more endgame than FFXIV to keep people busy when not raiding. World pvp is one and my favorite thing to do being solo/duoing old dungeon/raid contents. Something this game doesn't allow you to do because of this stupid item and level sync

WoW has little endgame content. Basically only raiding (a single raid dungeon) and arena (PvP). No such thing as World pvp in WoW. Soloing old content isnt endgame, tho.
I can understand if people would prefer to enjoy another game when they are (currently) bored with FFXIV. However WoW? Worst MMO to spend your time on, imo.



That said, as someone with less hours /played then the average person, I still have a lot to do before 3.0 hits. I don't mind it hitting in june as such.

Most of the player base is not at the point where they have nothing to do. Anybody who does only one aspect of content, will likely have completed that one aspect. For those of us "Doing it all" I for one, welcome a couple months before going insane. the sad part really is the level cap. That's going to make so much work for us crafters! and all of our gear is going to be obsolete. They are going back to class-specific gear . . which . . I mean . . . QQ !!!!

As much as I wish I could agree, I can't. Most of the players that I know either have no interest in leveling/gearing additional classes or already have all the classes leveled. I know I for one am missing WHM DRG MNK and FSH, and I honestly don't have any interest in them at all. I have Lucis+fully melded BTN MIN CUL and I'm not many steps away from the rest of the crafters. (I'm not trying to brag or sound like a jerk, I'm just trying to emphasize the validity of my point)

On top of this, unlocking poetics is seemingly useless, since those of us who have been capping weekly since they were released are already swimming in them, I have "full" poetic gear on 2 classes including 2 weapons, and that's to say nothing of soldiery where I have 3 stacks of 99 raziqsap rotting in my inventory and still accidentally cap on a regular basis. Unlocking Final Coil would be a smart move, but even that won't be enough to "tide over" many people, I fear. I know that I speak for a relatively small percentage of the population, but I am only missing a few pieces from a full final coil set on my main, and I know many others in my circles that are in the same boat. (once again I'm not trying to brag and sound like a jerk, I'm just explaining where I and many people I know are coming from)

Not everyone is a content sponge, soaking up everything as quickly as possible. If you are "out of things to do (that interest you)" then thats the situation you are in. I don't think this is the majority of players in the game. No one is forcing you to stay and play, if you are no longer having fun with the game, take a break. Come back later when there is more stuff to do. There are more than enough other people sitll interested in playing even if its just for the sole purpose of community and seeing friends that The game wont die or become a ghost town between the end of march and the end of June. That's the same amount of time between most major patches.

Also look at the amount of stuff that has been added to the game. ESO is doing a 20gig patch that adds two new systems (mostly for allowing players to be thieves) and the rest is fixing their game. 20 gigs!!! and little to no new content compared to the three new dungeons, and new mid/end game content that came with almost every patch every 3 or so months. I guess its still not enough for some people...

Perhaps not the majority of people, but there are still a great many, and as time goes on, more and more people will arrive at this conclusion. The imagined goal is not to have people taking breaks from the game, tearing apart raid groups and community. This is my concern. I'm not on some selfish rampage complaining about how I personally need more content because I'm an elitist jerk. Yes, WoW may have survived a 13 month drought or whatever, but WoW also has the precedence, novelty, and playerbase to do so. I'm not worried about this game "going under" in the next 3 months, but I certainly don't want to see people (including myself!) leaving because of stagnation, and that's the bottom line.

if people are bored with this game and move to wow they will regret everything.. played wow since vanilla and this new xpac is the worst if you want content.. no more gathering,crafting 2 raids to do on many different lvls (mostly same mechanics). no world pvp. ashran is horrible. sure u can run lowbie dungeons and lvl alts..but that get boring fast.

Yes. Savage First Coil and Savage Primals (even if just the first three) would absolutely tide anyone over.

I'm not going to pretend to know anything about the development of fights/programming of mechanics, but I can't imagine throwing in a few extra debuffs, throwing in more HP, and more DPS checks would be exceedingly difficult. This is the "ideal situation" that I would like to see, obviously the chances of this are dismal to none. The development of second coil vs savage second coil is still up for debate, but based on that scenario, a similar scenario logically is extremely possible. Furthermore, my understanding of the reason that the developers have backed away from making more primal fights/more "extreme" fights in general is because the playerbase was complaining that they were too difficult. Fast-forward to now when you can literally clear Shiva EX with 9 deaths including the main tank twice, and I think it should be back within the realm of possibility.

Well, sorry to say but the coil contents are finished. There is still the Before the Fall - Part 2 coming that people seem to have forgotten about which will contain more main scenario quests (that will be quick, I know) but will also have the Battle of Ishgard. What that battle will entail, i'm not entirely sure but I remember the final days of 1.0 where all hell broke loose. Yoshi-P said the end of 2.0 will be on the same scale as the end of 1.0 and I havent felt that yet so I can imagine Eorzea being overrun by Dragons. If you werent there for the end of 1.0 I'll post some screenshots. See if you recognize some of the places. It was such an awesome event that player created events ended up in the in-game lore. I squeed when I saw reference to "The Great Gobbue Wall" not to mention the endless waves of forces we fought in Carteneau. There was also the praying at the shrines that earned you a unique set of earrings(?), Atomos terrorizing areas, and Garlean airships patrolling the skies. It was an experience and a half! It also sounds like there might be some setup at the end of 2.0 to make the FC Summoning thing make sense within the lore of the realm so your idea of Savage Primals might still be coming.

I still think there will be some really fun end of the patch content coming. If those two things were big enough to have a Part 2 to the patch instead of just 2.55 we are in for some fun. There is still nothing released about this, instead they are diverting attention to the heavensward stuff. I'm looking forward to it!

Now, without any official information on Before the Fall part 2 and just going off what Yoshi-P said about it and what he did in the past, I am making a lot of assumptions. But I have high hopes for some grand finale in the final patch of the 2.X series. He said it will be on par with 1.0's end and I have not yet felt that. Although the Golden Saucer is pretty frackin sweet and the Main Scenario so far was also good, It's still missing something.
