Enough RMT!

I'm posting this because I for one have had enough of the RMT business on FFXIV and so have many others, Zalera has been exploding with complaints about RMT the past few days as many of its players have been receiving non-stop RMT messages, I've also read that there has been a significant amount of complaints all across the Aether and Primal data centers. In the past we all saw RMT ads as a simple annoyance where we would receive a tell every so often but as of late this is no longer the case as members of the Zalera community have been receiving dozens of friend requests an hour, hundreds of RMT tells, and even our mailboxes are being filled. I'm certain that Zalera is not the only world dealing with this explosive increase in RMT activity and this thread was made to hopefully draw SE's attention to the fact that the Final Fantasy community has had enough and are requesting legitimate action.

There's a line between ads and harassment and the RMT sellers have crossed it.

I have to agree, and wish it would stop. SE really needs to make a character delete limit with a 12-24 hour timer. ESO did it and it pretty much put a halt to their bot/RMT problem.

The only way you get mail is by you being on their friend list, and how do you get on there? accepting the request or sending a request, here is a official source for the info http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/system/community/ I do agree the RMT tells are bad I even get 1 while in the loading screen sometimes before the system message, I have to set my status as busy almost as soon as I log on.

And that is just from this year. They will not stop it. The game is popular, RMT goes to where the money is. Start a campaign in you server to have people boycott the RMT. People are buying gil in your server. Cut off the cash flow it stops

boycotting will not stop the spam so long as there are people on the server the ads will continue which means in order to get rid of them we are forced to look towards SE.

It has become quite bad on Aether recently.
I've had to change to being /busy by default because of that...

While there's still plenty of RMT being banned every week (of which each banned account probably was used to send spam with hundreds of different names), we need better tools to protect ourselves against RMT spam.
