Two Relics in Heavensward?

When you get your Zeta, it says Zodiac Saga complete, or whatever. My guess is the next part of it will evolve it away from the Zodiac weapon into something brand new again. That way the Zodiac saga is still technically over, because it's something new.

i bet youre wrong mate. wouldnt make sense to create a new design for em just to redesign em not even 6 months later. i doubt thats gonna happen. it wont transform. its DONE. it makes no sense to continue it anyway if heavensward is meant to be a completly new endgame open for everyone again. heck even the new raid does not need t13 clear to play. why should relic be still needed? current gear will be worthless in an instant once you hit 60 i bet.

If I were to speculate, I would think the "neo-relic" quest line would have a progress bar, similar to how lights are accumulated. New players can begin building their "neo-relic" at this stage and get a weapon.

Veteran players would be able to trade in their Relic / Zodiac to "evolve" into the "neo-relic". The further along you are in the original quest line, the more progress you accumulate in a single trade, with a Zeta being worth 100% of the progress (therefore instantly evolving)

This seems like one of the best ways to maintain the existing relic quest line without having new players grind out the entire chain from scratch. Also the veterans would get the bonus of having a weapon with "customized" stats versus a new player with stats provided by S-E.

We first asked about item progression in Heavensward, and how completed Zodiac weapons or Lucis tools would be addressed. Yoshida first confirmed that there would be new “relic” progression within the 3.x expansion. It is not yet finalized whether it will be identified as a continuation of the 2.x progression or a brand new concept, but it will continue throughout the 3.x expansion, starting at 3.1. For those who have completed Zodiac weapons, they are planning on having some advantage for those players in this new progression. Yoshida mentioned that players should understand, however, since the level cap will be increased to level 60 and with higher item levels, there will of course be new weapons with higher item levels. The new “relic” arc will start at 3.1. We also confirmed that level 51 gear will start below iLevel 135.

This makes it sound like there will be 1 relic quest line it will start in 3.1 if you have a Zodiac you get an advantage over someone who doesn't have one, maybe skipping first couple of grind steps.

just go get the blood from dragon 1, scale from dragon 2, claw from dragon 3, heart from dragon 5, eyeball of dragon 6, appendix of dragon 7, horn of dragon 8, wing of dragon 9, tail of dragon 10, teeth of dragon 11 and poo of dragon 12.....then we can recreate the legendary lampposts of the city!....oh and here is your new ilvl150 stick as reward
