I've heard this term thrown around quite a few times by other BLMs, How exactly do I SC or CC? Tips would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on your general latency. For the most part at the tail end of a spell cast, along with you having already queue'd in the next cast, you can scoot an inch or two and have neither cast interrupted.
It's based on lag. If you have a higher latency, the window that you can begin to move and not cancel the cast is larger, and vice versa.
So just do some tests on a target dummy and try moving right at the very end of a spell cast but before it finishes. If it says interrupted, you moved too early.

Moving during the last quarter of your spell cast. Around 0.200 works for me.
Mine is around 0.400 and with a latency (from CONSTANT ping test to SE servers) around 38-50ms.
Slide casting is probably THE SKILL you have to master completely to be a good mage - proper rotations aside. It's what enables me to do skyrocket up to almost 500 on T11 on good procs. ;_;
How can u slide at 0.400 with 38-50ms ping? My ping is usually 80-100ms but i should slide at 0.300, 0.400 will cancel the cast D:
Edit : we're talking about F1 and B1, not longer cast one
Properly skating is prob one of the most useful "skills" in the BLM arsenal. In movement heavy fights (such as Titan EX), it separates the men from the boys. Learn your exact percentage of cast when you're able to do it and even practice it in fights when it's not needed - just so you can get a perfect feel for it. Your deeps numbers will thank you for it.
I live an hour from servers. Something, I get a clear no latency and my spell cancel when I start moving at 0.1500 second. I cry. A lot.
