Mini-Lottery: Maybe a BIT more fairness?

Not all tickets are going to be winners. Such is life.

This is a game, it got nothing to do with life.

And even if something like this existst in RL, it's bad there, it's also bad here.

As said, the main problem is, that MGP are very hard to come by, if you are not winning them just like that.

Let's say: 3600 MGP = Carboncoat. 10000 MGP = Carbontwine.
One guy gets 3-4 tickets with Carbontwine and 5-6 with Carboncoat. 25% get half of this and the rest gets nothing, just by RNG.

Is this a good design? That the program just decides, who gets something, who gets plenty and who gets nothing at all?

Sure, you can just accept this. Or say: well, bad game, I will play something else. Or you can ask them, if they don't think, that this could be improved a bit. Let the lottery stay, but give people with less luck a chance, to get their MGPs without grinding hours of hours TT. This pretty much ruins TT, too, because it becomes absolutely mind-numbing.

Just how would the program find these people? Is there a test to take before hand that determines who's lucky and who's not? Everyone has the same chance to win as the other guy. I have yet to have a ticket that had a 10k payout, does that mean I'm unlucky? To even the playing field my next ticket should have 6 possible ways to win 10k? I don't want to say what I really think of people who complain about "fairness" at the risk of a ban. It just sickens me sometimes that so many people think everyone should get a trophy. Has to be an age thing, up bringing or something, maybe I'm too old fashion. In my day you got what you worked for and you were thankful, you didn't complain that someone got more than you as there is someone who always got less than you.

Well, if they don't just give the other people more chances to earn GMP without luck, it would be VERY easy for the program to know, how often you have won or not. Very easy.

In your days? Kid, FF14 got NOTHING to do with work. And if you think, that this was a good time, where some people have to work hard and the others get the work of hours for free, then you are NOT talking about good days. The point is not, that people are getting more. The point is, that others are getting less - by far.

If they really like casino so much, why they don't implement poker and roulette, too? Or just heighten the reward for chocobo racing, something you are actually PLAYING in this game. You have to win about 100 chocobo races for 10k MGP.

When I see threads like this, its like seeing the little kid in the toy store stomping his feet because he can't have the same toy little Jimmy has next door. Don't worry I'm sure they'll nerf it just to shut the "unlucky" up, like they have done in the past.

Pretty sure he told you that it's based on luck, it won't be nerfed, and that people whining/feeling entitled doesn't really matter in the end. No where did he insult you. And he's completely right.

Dear devs: why does the new lottery you have implimented work exactly like a lottery. Please change this so we can just get a free 10k MGP every day.

The entire idea behind a lottery is a random chance of winning that can be influenced by the player choices. I have had an entire 2 tickets that could have won the jackpot (and did), and, shock horror, this is what a lottery does.

This thread is a little on the silly side of requests.
