You can also try farming t4 for the allagan leathers and such and selling them on the Market Board if you are not into crafting. Also, if you are not using Soildery for anything, you can purchase the Solidery Mats and sell them as well. That's what I do but since I have a small plot now I also sell thavarian onion seeds :]

*the feeling I'm getting from this thread*
"He is poor! Kill him!"

Unfortunately Yoshida has already stated that they do not plan to make a credit system for housing, because, quoting his words from Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
1:15:10
Q: Can you take out a loan?
A: We've been asked this a lot, but there are problems with how it would be collected, repayment, and other such aspects that would just make it too similar to real life, so we're not planning to have this at the moment.

The poor disgust me.
Unfortunately even if they allowed you to take out a loan/mortgage it still wouldn't solve the issue of the fact that THERE IS NO MORE LAND! So even if everyone had enough money for a house there's no land for us to put a house on. We need to push Yoshi-P to fix that problem before fixing the unjust prices. So while it is cruel and unjust to force one person to pay the same amount as an entire FC it is a moot point when there is literally nothing to buy.As I've rarely broken a million gil my chances of owning a house at the moment are really slim. What if you bought the house on a kind of credit system, you pay a deposit which allows you to put downa few furniture items and the more you pay off the more items you are allowed to place. Eventually once you've paid off your house you could move up a tier and upgrade and start again.

if you want a house, save for it. do what it takes to get it.
Now, if you're complaining about a lack of PLOTS, that's one thing, but a lack of funds is a non-issue in a game where just running a dungeon can net you a few thousand in gil drops, and more if you sell droppable items.

I only pointed out that someone with Goldsmith 50 as their main class shouldn't have money issues at all. On my server, a goldsmith can stock all 40 slots on two retainers in the morning, and come back in the evening to half a million gil from sold goods.

Some people have lives.

These are my favorite come back because it completely negates the truth. You want something, you work for it. If your life is so chaotic that you don't even have 30 minutes to farm sealant then I wonder you even have time to play the game at all. It's not an issue with time but a lack of effort.
FYI, I wanted a house and spent almost two months farming beast man sealant to buy one. I didn't spend more than 30 minutes a day farming them so "life" wasn't an issue.
