If they did that, then look forward to having people 50+ who have no idea what they're doing...oh wait, we already have that lol
I would KILL for something like this in the game. No way do I want to level 1 or 2 new classes from 1-60 or even 30-60. And yeah leveling isn't hard, but it's boring as hell. The complaint about people not knowing what their doing I don't really agree with. Bad players will be bad with those classes, but people that know what they're doing will be fine with them. Same as now. The whole "leveling helps you learn your character" thing is a myth honestly.

People like you have no clue... It took me a week with 6 hours a day to level from 1 to 50 for ninja, doing dungeons and FATEs/leves in between... And I think I did it fairly quickly...

I'm in two minds about this.

As someone above mentioned its a complete pain in the ass to level up new classes/jobs without a plethora of sidequests, grinding dungeons and fate is really monotonous.

So in some sense starting at 30 will appease that to some extent, that being said they could just provide a bunch of new quests or make previous quests independent for each class, either that or just make a bunch of new repeatable quests for all level ranges.

Am I the only person who enjoyed leveling?

I'll never understand the lack of quests complaint either... You have Levequests. Use them. Between FATEs, Dungeons and Levequests, I found leveling Ninja anything but monotonous. If I'm going to start these new Jobs with them already half way to the cap, then that's just going to mean I end up enjoying them less... At least leveling them means I can play them. I'm certainly not going to be able to play all three once they're capped.

I get why they're doing it though, but I still just find Jobs in this game needlessly confusing... Why give them no base Class? If I need Gladiator 30 and Thaumaturge 15 to unlock Dark Knight... Just make Gladiator the base Class and revamp the damn system so Jobs have a bigger impact on Class skills... Flash turns to Darkness, like Yoshi suggested. Yes Scholar/Summoner wasn't so hot, that's because you did practically nothing with the concept though... Change the pets and that was it...

Levequests are the poor mans way of levelling though, its the worst and most boring way to level.

At least with sidequests you get to explore and go out and experience story elements which helps to reduce the monotony.

I argee that it seems pointless to move away from base classes to unlock new jobs but I guess they want to make it easier for new players to experience the expansion content, plus it also makes sense from a development point of view that you don't need to tune classes and jobs independently. Plus lets not forget how SCH and SMN are held back by the limitations of ACN.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them redeisgn the whole class/job system before long.

I agree with this. I love leveling and leveling all 3 jobs from level 1 was something I was looking forward to

Me too for the reasons you said. Past level 50 all it's left to do is spam raids/dungeons for gear.

    Completely agree.
I think they are just taking away the experience of getting the character to grow. 1-30 is where you learn the basic skills of the job if you just slap all skills to learn at once you're not only creating terrible df experiences for everyone, you're also taking away content people could enjoy.

On top of that you're killing the activity of low lvl dungeons which btw a LOT of us still need for leveling and relic objectives.

Hmmmm if the new classes wont start at level 1 and Yoshi-P said in a previous interview that newcomers could start the game with the new classes, does this mean newcomers can start the game as a level 30? What does this mean for the storyline then? Since you need to be level 15 to travel to another zone and you need to be atleast around level 20 to fight Ifrit and be invitied to a Grand Company which inturn provides you with the quest to get your own chocobo mount.

If the classes start at level 15, then I can see this work for the newcomers, but at level 30 sounds a little weird.

I'm guessing they'll expect new players to take a vanilla class to 30 and then get access to the new jobs.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
