Not really you gotta remember theres low level roulette as well. Starting at level 30 isnt a big deal either if the new jobs play similar to the classes below level 30.

Sureee, you can 'master' (depending solely on your definition of mastery) your class within a few hours. Or at least you can understand what your abilities do and how they should work together. You dont form muscle memory in a few hours however, so we're not really mastered.. are we?
Secondly its not so much about mastering your class but more about what to expect from dungeons/raids/content and how you should perform in a group environment. That is the sole reason why skipping all content to immediately jump into endgame is a bad plan.
It worked 'ok' in WoW because WoW is a relatively simple minded game.
I want to switch from my PLD to DRK at day one at lvl 50. lvl the DRK from lvl 50-60 will be enough time for me the learn the class.
So if i have a tank job at lvl 50 let me start the DRK at lvl 50 too. If you dont have a tank class at lvl 50 and dont know how to tank start at lvl 1 or 30.
Level a class only with FATEs is the wrong way to learn a class. There is a reason why dungeons give more exp and why guildhest exist.
i like it more if i get the skills one after one instead of all at one. So i have time to test the skill, see what it can do an how it work with other skills. Give the average player 6 new skills at once and it will confuse them first, because they had no time to learn what skill do what. Then they enter their first dungeon and don't know their skills.
My character is from 1.x, i know how it is to get all the new skills at once without a "learn the roots" phase.

I can't imagine them allowing for first character people making in the game being started at 30 without any restrictions, it makes no sense. Not only would those who did so miss out on level 1-30 main story quests which include both unlocking of chocobo's and airship travel, unlocking leves feature and guildhests but also all the low level dungeons and low level roulette would be locked and unknown to the new player still because they too are made known and unlocked as part of the main story during levels 1-30. If they force the new players to still do the level 1-30 main quests despite starting at level 30 then it would be pointless starting at 30 to begin with since you generally level pretty quick to 30 by doing those quests and unlocking/doing those dungeons anyways.
On top of that it is also detrimental to the rest of the classes in that if people can just start their first character at 30 on just the three new classes, what incentive would most people have to instead make one of the older classes which start at level 1 their first class. I think SE needs to seriously address with clarity how the new classes will work in terms of requirements and limitations between now and the expansions release, there is also clearly confusion about the issue as shown by multiple conflicting threads talking about it so they have not been very clear at this stage. I agree with others too that it is better for learning a class if you start at level 1 despite a desire by myself to try two of the new classes from the expansion, unlocking and practicing skills as level up instead of having a large amount of skills dumped on players at once.
I think they will have to make a requirement of having prerequisite of another class to at least 30 before can make the new class to avoid the redundancy and problems associate with a first character being started at 30...if no prerequisites then they need to explain how they have solved the problems I mentioned above and how it will work sooner rather than later. There is still plenty of time but the issue needs clarification and there is a lot of conflicting information floating about on the issue. I think it is pretty clear to me that the new classes will not start at level 1 but what is not clear at all is what prerequisites will be in place for unlocking them, no prerequisites makes little to no sense to me and leads to a vast array of problems.

You don't have roulette version until unlock all the dungeons that form the low level roulette, many of which are unlocked during the main quest between levels 1-30. So unless SE is planning to have them all unlocked by default on the new classes then their still going to have to do the main quests from 1-30 which will lead to redundancy as the quest dialogue is about going to the places and actually unlocking them which is redundant if already unlocked.
I think it said new players start at level 1, but jobs don't. So new players will not be able to be a drk or what not tell they level something else and unlock jobs.
Guessing they tweking on what it is. Maybe something like need a 30 blm and a War to unlock DRk?
Technically that's no starting class. It's just need these jobs to unlock this job.
Again if it requires lvl30 to unlock the new job then its a moot point. Atm you need lvl30 in say maurauder + 1 other class at lvl15 like gladiator to access warrior for example. Having the new Jobs require similar prereqs means nothing is any diferent from now.

“We were actually recently deciding what to call these jobs that don’t have a base class, and we’ve decided to call them ‘Extra Jobs.’ Just like when you can switch to different jobs when you’re at level 30, that applies to these as well. As long as any class or job is at level 30, you’ll be able to access any of these three new jobs.”some more infosIf a player had stopped playing around patch 2.2 or 2.3, I’d recommend choosing one of the new jobs and leveling that up while catching up on the story, then transitioning into Heavensward.
Disappointed....I'm not like this free pass to level 30 or whatever it ends up. Starting to feel abit cheated and Jaded about the expansion. I hope, I hear some good news soon...
