What's up with all the NINs Im running into these days?

I've been running a lot of Dungeons for my Zodiac drops right now and I'm on the last two, and most of the people that have been supreme arseholes in these runs were Ninjas.


They're either badmouthing me for taking a second to explain things to new people in the group, pulling more groups of enemies themselves than the healer or other DPS is geared up enough for, or they're taking it upon themselves to start each and every pull themselves. And it's not even that I'm running into the same person, it's been several different people, upwards of 5 or 6 different Ninjas that have all been rude, arrogant and extremely impatient.

My last one wasn't letting me explain the Snowcloak bosses to a BRD in the party, and by the time we were in the last zone, he was going ahead and letting me and the new BRD kill the last two Aevis's ourselves while he stood at the gate waiting for someone to grab the key, then he runs into Fenrir's room, decides to give barely a sentence of info about the fight, then rushes in and pulls himself.

And I can't even just DPS because I'd be waiting too long for the quenes, which means I would likely not be butting heads constantly with them if I wasn't the tank. If I was the DPS, I could just stay out of the drama these people keep causing, since it seems to be as Tank that I run into them. Thick skin as a tank only gets me so far, but it's grating on me having to deal with them run after run today in a ridiculous series of bad luck.

What this really makes me think though is that NINs are the new DRGs, it's what's seen as the "coolest" Job, and now all those types of people are flocking to it.

Sadly, I can't offer you a true solution aside from letting them rush off and inevitably die. If they're in that much of a hurry to tank things and get killed, so be it. I understand this isn't entirely in your control even as a tank, because it's your healer that may try to keep those nasty ninjas alive. Still, it's worth discussing with the rest of your party in the event you run into another one of them.

That all said, I've encountered innumerable DPS and healers that act similarly. Especially if they outgear the content. I may never have played a tank, but I do have a healer and DPS and I just feel behaving that way is both rude and unnecessary. I feel this disrespect is partly to blame for the severe lack of tanks being played these days. You don't want to have to put up with that nonsense, so why would you?

I could say the same about any class, an asshole player is not pigeon hold into one distinct class. There are plenty of tanks, dps and healers who are very unsavory players. Also, a lot of people are actually turned off by ninja due to the mudra lag issues.

This. Just tell the healer to not heal them if they pulled something. They'll either learn real fast or rage quit out.

This has nothing to do with the DPS being a Ninja, it just so happened that those DPS were Ninjas.
But yeah it usually does more harm than help if a DPS just charges in a group and leaves the tank to pick that mess up, most of the time it ends with the healer having aggro, the DPS being dead which is not helping and the tank having a stressful job because he has to pick the scattered mobs up.
I can see how this is annoying but on the other hand most people by now know what to do and even then as long as 2 people know their shit the fights are pretty self explaining.
So to some people it's a waste of time, as tank you have instand queues but as DPS this is not the case and most people just want to get done with whatever their business in that dungeon is.
I usually just go with 2-3 people from my FC so I don't have to deal with slow runs, if I soloqueue I chill and let the tank do his thing, more often than not I explain in the start of a fight how a fight works as most tanks can't handle my opener without losing aggro because some Warriors think it's a good idea to apply the slashing resistence debuff right away... It's better to let the Ninjas handle that in dungeons.

IMO telling a healer to not heal someone is even more of just being a dick.

I encountered one last night, I thought I could get a quick low level roulette in for my 49 brd before bedtime and I ended up in Aurum Vale, ugh I thought.. It got worse when the Nin decided he wanted to walk into the first room and pull enemies for us, whilst standing in the middle aggroing the rest and wiping us twice. After making it through the room and him clearly being the "first timer exp bonus" in the dungeon since he didn't eat any fruit to remove the debuff we kicked him (I think it's justified considering he didn't listen to anyone, didn't ask for any help and was just going to wipe us later again and again) and finished the run promptly with a new Nin which was a good ninja so I guess there are still good ones out there!

Maybe, but if we're halfway through the dungeon, telling the person to stop pulling, putting more work on both of us and they continue? I'm talking about people who pull a group by only attacking one mob. Healer will usually try to panic heal getting aggro on the remaining group then I have to rush in and get aggro on everything. Not saying I can't or that doing so is difficult, but its unnecessary extra work, and is just rude to people you don't know in DF. Or if I could have made a large pull with a decent healer I would then have to wait a bit for resources to regen, effectively making the run longer. I don't tank dungeons waiting minutes between pulls, I make sure my healer has their bearings and continue on.

edit: most of the time it's seconds waiting for a mana tick or two, meaning dps that pull for me when I'm tanking have literally no consideration for their fellow dungeon runners. To me, being a massive dick is kicking them out of a run for it, I'm a dps first and I know how bad the average queue is but if the dps have no regard for the tank or healer and continue to do so throughout the dungeon why bother?

Of course I don't say things like that the very very first time it happens. But my patience for it can only run so thin.

99% of the time people who try to speed up runs with crap like that make them take exceptionally longer.

I do one of a few things when people, not just NINs, do that:

- I will NOT pull the mob of him.
- I will leave, or not enter, the boss room.
- I would /sit before I begin explaining stuff to new people.

He's a DPS, he can't do anything on his own. Honestly most of the assholes i run into are Tanks and Healers. Not clearing mobs for EXP or being a douche when it comes to doing their role is much easier because getting into a different party isn't difficult.
