Wow. A Kefka fan who can talk respectfully about Sephiroth. I have waited long for someone like you. Yes, he has a mother complex, but he is controlled more by ideas than a physical entity. At least that's how I see it. Transplants work on dead cells as well. That's essentually how cloning works, and that's how people plan to resurrect the very much extinct mammoth. I for one think Sephiroth got worse during advent children. More crazy I mean. In VII he had a relatively complex plan where he manipulating everything and anyone, including the planet itself, to reach his goal if merging with the lifestream, which he kinda did. In Advent Children, he just came back to troll Cloud.

Okay, now a question for all the Kefka fans. If he is in, do you think he is a Garlean soldier?
It would be a pretty nice way to make them relevant again. And since Garleans love italian, Palazzo wouldnt be out of place at all. Hmmm, Kefka sas Palazzo. Or perhaps Kefka van Palazzo. AAAAnd in the end, after playing around with the warring triads Kefka deus Palazzo. Yeah it would work. I doubt the new Emperor would be kicked off the Floating Continent this earyl, but maybe the Archbishop. Yeah, that would work nicely.

There is still the fact that we fight Jenova in FFvii. Four times. Which, if the Calamity is indeed dead at that point, becomes suddenly unclear to me after all these years

As for the kefka/sephiroth debate, I'm not into that. I like both for different reasons. Sephiroth is the mentally disturbed kid who never solved his mother complex and started to think that it was his duty to follow his mother's legacy. He's good as a villain but what's more interesting is the process of thoughts from the "I'm the son of a monster" to the "You're all monsters and I'll kill you all". Also the history about Hojo and the J-cells project.

Kefka however, if just one batshit crazy guy who wants to destroy the world because reasons. "I'm bored, so I'll annihilate you. sounds fun". For the entire time of the game, he manages to provoke chills down our spine with his laugh and his evilness. But worse, he's just genuinely evil. He's just doing that to keep himself entertained. For me, he's the one true villain of all final fantasy titles. There are other big baddies and stuff, but he is the only one who wants to destroy everything with no reason at all. Just for fun. Crazy bastard.

I don't think kefka will ever come as he is in FFvi because the focus of the game is not the same as in FFvi. We're more in the "crystal type" of Final fantasy for now. Though there could be a similar crazy guy coming in the future with no morale at all, wrecking chaos and forcing the Empire to ally with Eorzea, leading to the access to the Garlean capital and their technology in a future extension.
