Enough RMT!

I'm posting this because I for one have had enough of the RMT business on FFXIV and so have many others, Zalera has been exploding with complaints about RMT the past few days as many of its players have been receiving non-stop RMT messages, I've also read that there has been a significant amount of complaints all across the Aether and Primal data centers. In the past we all saw RMT ads as a simple annoyance where we would receive a tell every so often but as of late this is no longer the case as members of the Zalera community have been receiving dozens of friend requests an hour, hundreds of RMT tells, and even our mailboxes are being filled. I'm certain that Zalera is not the only world dealing with this explosive increase in RMT activity and this thread was made to hopefully draw SE's attention to the fact that the Final Fantasy community has had enough and are requesting legitimate action.

Please post your support so that we may catch SE's attention.

I have to agree, and wish it would stop. SE really needs to make a character delete limit with a 12-24 hour timer. ESO did it and it pretty much put a halt to their bot/RMT problem.

^This. This would be a very simple solution that would dramatically lower the amount of spam. The problem here is that RMT users can abuse the monthly free trial, create any character they want, use the search system to send tells/friend requests, then immediately delete the character after it meets its quota. One of those three systems (player search, free trial, or instant character deletion) needs to be gimped to put a halt on these bots and sellers. Obviously the other two systems wouldn't be ideal, leaving the character deletion one. Make it have to be a 24hr wait and boom: the pace is slowed and suddenly SE can actually catch up with RMT reports.

This is a really good idea. There are RMT on all popular games but I've never seen them anywhere so bad in any other mmo's. Even in WoW, I'd get a tell or two throughout the day, but not every 60 seconds. Tried GW2 this weekend and it was shocking only receiving tells from other players. This is my favorite mmo by far but the constant tells take so much away from it.

That thread has existed since 2013, with people asking for something as simple as a rightclick->report also as far back as late 2013.

It's been sitting in "Being Addressed/Currently Reviewing" for a very long time, remaining near the top of the front page if not the very top.

We still don't have something as simple as rightclick->report.

There's a line between ads and harassment and the RMT sellers have crossed it.
