Flying, Manual or On-Rails?

So looking at all the footage of heavensward it looks like the flying is more of a flightpath on-rails type deal instead of just manually flying wherever you want, have they actually given anymore information on this?

I'm assuming it'll be like WoW's flying mounts.

I am sure it is manual, the reason why it looked like it was on rails is because its a trailer showing of the flying.

I seem to remember the London fanfest thing in Dec they mentioned all you have to do is press "jump" to start flying where ever you want.

K cool, i mean i aren't that fussed if it was automatic flight paths, still looks amazing, but yeah, manual flying would be nice

What I am wondering is will we be able to fly in all areas (old and new) or will it be in the new areas only?

There is a point in the video where the character takes off from a random peak and lands at a spot that looks like anything but a landing spot.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if they had both free roam flying mounts and an on-rail travel point flying mount similar to Chocobo Porter system in place.
