I was saying the current system doesn't reward someone having 8 crafters. Maybe 2 or 3 max, if somebody wants to capitalize on desynthesis and have enough retainer space.
Specialization system will reward it.
Source would be the interview where yoshi mentioned having only 1 specialization at a time.
Speculation? Everything at this point is, but you can't really argue that 32 retainers isn't better than 4.. and having access to 8 specialized classes isn't better than 1, or getting 72 oaknots a day isn't better than getting 9.. etc. Numbers > < =
You should re-read that, it does say you can have multiple.Specialization system will reward it.

The delay in switching could be as little as an hour. After all the same speech is given for AST switching stances.. There will be a delay.
With out knowing what the crafts that are available under spec, you cannot knowingly say that it WILL or will NOT reward alts.
You can only guess. As can the rest of us.
People can have alts now, and grind out more oaknots every day.
That's true.. How long this "delay" will be, changes everything. You should re-read that, it does say you can have multiple.

I just wish they'd made it a little more clear whether it would be a few hours, 24 hours, or a week. I honestly don't mind if all I have to do is just go to the guildmaster and speak to them (if your status with the guild is saved) and craft what I need, and switch back. But if that is indeed the case, doesn't it make you wonder why such a barrier would exist? What would be the point of it after all?
She meant 8 different characters that craft. Even with desynthesis there's no need to have more than one max melded currently. You can do Ixali easily in unmelded 2.0 gear.
Unless of course you wanted an easy path to more oaknots, to get sealants, for you main character, to create more gear for less to control the MB.
But to that, I do say, more power to them.
And honestly, if people want to spend their day jumping alts to 'control' the mb... good for them.
I'll still craft my stuff. Post it, and gain.
They can buy it all out or sell a lot at a low price to..... remove profit from anyone... for a time.
I'll buy that cheap stuff, and wait till they have expended their desire to bottom a market, and then I'll sell it again. At a Higher price.
In the end, it is just a game.
And for some, its not the game, but the game within the game that they decided is important to them. IE, being an MB Baron/ess. To cater to those people is the wrong direction to take a game.
The only business models that survive catering to the 1% are because those 1% supply more income than the other 99%.
This game is not that business model.
"However, for crafters up until patch 2.5, rather than the system allowing you to be any of them, to a large extent for more hardcore crafters it required you to be all of them."
So in a nutshell Specialization = casuals. Time to start leveling alts it would seemI have an idea, let's make alexander catered towards casuals as well! End game crafting is like End game raiding, not for everyone!
.... I gather from that, Specialization = no requirement to level all other crafting classes.
After all, as has been said here before, DoM/DoW have no need to level the rest of the classes to be competent at content.
I think that's the general idea behind it.. But the rest of the interview being unclear and the amount of information out being ambiguous makes me, among others, think that it will instead be a limiting factor in the omnicrafting scene.. We'll have to see as more info gets rolled out
