*A* floating continent, not *the* Floating Continent from FFVI. There's also one in FFIII, and Sky in XI was essentially this as well. There is no evidence that this area will be directly lifted from VI or any other game.

Go to around the 8:20 mark. They specifically mention that it's something all Final Fantasy fans recognize, and they called it the "Floating Continent". It definitely doesn't look like the continent from III, and I doubt it's the "sky" from XI. That leaves the Floating Continent from VI. The only question is what role will it play. Will it be an endgame explorable area ala sea and sky from XI, or will it be an mid level raid ala Crystal Tower?

Plus the music at the end of the new FF14 Heavensward trailer the music is quite similar to the beginning of the music of the Floating Continent from FF6 too.

All the "nostalgia content" needs to take a back seat for a while.

Not to mention the people with the cloned names of FFVII players having an additional letter tacked on, or a changed spelling... I see those names and I'm thinking, "...you didn't even TRY." I mean, you name your character, and it sticks with you throughout the entire game! It identifies your character! I mean, you need to ask yourself, "What meaning does this name hold for me?" lol. A lot of the players in FFXIV lack originality, and it makes me roll my eyes or shake my head in disappointment. Seriously D: YES, I know you can change your name for a fee (they already implemented that, right?), but you know where I'm coming from. It took me several hours to plan what my name was going to be, lol.

I support this cause FF8 was my first final fantasy and because that castle would make a hell of a good raiding area. But I doubt it will happen.

I think it could fit in the story since Ultimecia was a sorceress capable of controlling time.
But I'd much rather see the Four Fiends.
