    Choosing a dps

    Hey guys

I have decided to level a dps and have narrowed my choice down to 4 classes monk, bard, ninja and summoner. I am mainly going to be completing coils, ex primals etc and am wondering how each of these classes (especially summoner) hold up in final coil?
Also as i play on ps4 (am looking to play on pc later on ) I am wondering how difficult are each of the classes are to play on it as well?

    Any help is greatly appreciated

SMN is probably not the best with ps because pet control cost lot of binds. But all works once you get used 2 it.

Depends on how much effort you want to put into learning a class. If not a lot than go with BRD. Safe class to play with only "one real" rotation that you need to be aware of. Monk is quite fun at least to me, because it can keep me occupied by doing position's, so if you like to move around a lot than maybe that class. Ninja is an easier version of both DRG and MNK imo. Only real mechanic with that class is the Mudra's in which if you have bad server lag, it might not be so good for you cause it has a delay in between each mudra. I know some ninjas that only stick behind the rear of the boss because the only positional, iirc that they have is Trick Attack. There is Sneak attack which is a frontal skill but, often in raids you wont be using it that much. If you can micro manage alot of things than go with summoner if you so wish though I've been hearing its not the best class atm for final coil but hey, many has managed o3ob.

You will realistically never, ever use sneak attack. Ever.

Only time sneak attack would be better than trick attack is if it's the killing blow on the monster, which is never really going to be the case, and at that point, you were better off just casting raiton probably.

SMN is not the best dps for fcob, they are outclassed in basically every way by BLMs but they are still viable and you absolutely can clear the content without issues just because you have a SMN. I mained smn for a long time while using controller before I switched to keyboard&mouse so I can vouch for its effectiveness on a controller. Although you will need to get used to it and get very quick and good with it as it requires a bit more keyninding than other jobs imo.

Bard is kind of stale imo, it's nice in that you'll never lose dps from movement for the most part, but the rotation isn't too interesting.
Although I admit I love the procs that keeps it entertaining and it can be enjoying supporting the party with paeon/ballad/foes.

Monk is a personal fav of mine and my main alt job. It has a fun rotation that's quick paced and once you get the groove of it and hit positionals in your sleep its just very fun to play. It just has a certain smoothness and quickness to it that keeps you in a zone.

Ninja is my main and I enjoy it a lot. I find the rotation to be fun and ninjutsu is an interesting mechanic and keeps things fresh.

Monk is the best single target dps and does extremely well in fcob especially on t13. Ninja is also a very strong dps.
Smn can also put out competitive damage although it's a bit lacking in fcob.
Bards dps isn't amazing but they can actually put out very high dps in all the fights although a lot of that will matter on how much you have to sing.

If you're going to play SMN on PS4 I'd recommend using a Keyboard and Mouse (any generic setup will do - I use a 10$ keyboard/mouse combo)

Bards are in high demand for groups due to their songs. But in saying that you will need to be good. Bards are expected to do high damage as well as do Raid Utility/Mechanics.
Out of all the Jobs it's usually Bards that get kicked from groups due to underperforming. "But I lose DPS from singing Ballad and Paeon" does not cut it.
(Would you rather have a bard that does 380 DPS and barely sings, or one that does 470 DPS and always sings when required)

    - NIN - check to see how bad your Mudra lag is if possible, and/or if you're willing to use a VPN, as this will greatly effect your performance.

    - MNK - Great all-around choice. But you will need to really push your damage since that's all you're there for.

    - SMN - If you are going to main SMN then I would also recommend that you also Main a strong Melee Class. In fights where a melee wont do as good, a SMN will do great. In fights where a SMN will do really bad, a Melee will be amazing. I don't see any way in the near future to balance this aspect of SMN. So it's useful to have both ready to go.
