Surplus SP on Miner is acting weird

4 days ago, I spent most of the day mining. I kept going until I hit surplus SP (my SP turned yellow).

When I starting mining again last night, I was no longer fatigued and my SP was again white. I mined for a couple of hours and got 20,000 SP. Then I started mining again this morning. After 3,000 SP, I am now fatigued again. Not gathering fatigue... but actual surplus SP.

I thought it took about 80k to hit surplus. Why am I hitting it after 23k on miner?

The fatigue system, baby. There are 16 Thresholds.

The first 8 thresholds are normal exp. The next 8 are Fatigue thresholds.

Four days ago, you went from the first to the 8th.

Anyway; you stopped mining, and according to SE, your Threshold goes down as you don't do that job. So after 4 days, your Mining fatigue went away, but only a little bit, it didn't reset completely, so instead of going from 0 to 100, you went from like 75 to 100.

Tough break, keep plowing through that mining.
