TT tournament: Question about playing NPCs.

I wasn't going to touch the tournament in wait for SE to do something about the brokenness of it, but since they don't seem to be doing anything, I figured I might as well go play my remaining 14 matches against NPCs to work towards the Shantoto card since I no longer care about the Lightning card that many cheaters will now have.

Do NPCs give less and less points each time you beat them? Or do they always give the same for a win? And which NPC gives the most points? I heard a lot about King Elmer, but what about the Indolent Imperial? Is the only way to tell if an NPC is taking part in the tournament by examining them to see if there's an option to challenge to tournament match? Outside of tournament, Indolent Imperial gives more than King Elmer.

Okay, but which ones give the most points? I hear a lot about King Elmer, but outside TT tournaments Indolent Imperial gives more than King Elmer. What about inside tournament? I never see anyone mention Indolent Imperial.

Im pretty sure only the npcs within gold saucer are participating and that you cant do tournament matches outside the gold saucer?

I believe that to be correct.

If you want to go check other NPCs, when you're on the last step before challenging an NPC to a tournament match (the rules/rewards screen), you can see what points you'll get from beating them (though for some reason you seem to get about 50% more if you win).

Well, I had no hope to do well at tournament since I am really not good at TT...
