I would think that the code should still be valid considering the nature of where it's coming from. However, if it does have a cut off time, it would be included in the packaging or found on the website itself.

I'm also not sure why you're asking either... It should be no big deal to pass it to a friend of your choice and have them just use it. If it works, awesome, and if it doesn't, oh well. Only reason why you would want it confirmed by someone other than a friend would be if you intend to sell it...

• The registration code will allow you to obtain the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn “Wind-up Dalamud” in-game item.
• Minions do not have any status enhancing effects.
• A FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn service account is necessary to redeem the registration code. If you have yet to complete the registration process, please visit the official website (http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com)
• The registration code can only be used once.
• Once the registration code has been redeemed it cannot be undone.
• Please be sure not there are no errors when inputting the registration code.
• The registration code will not be re-issued in the event that it is lost or stolen.
• The registration code will expire on December 31, 2014.
o Any further announcements regarding the registration code redemption deadline will be made separately.
