Dalamud Minion Code [Dev Response Request]

I'm just wondering if this code is still valid if it's unused.

I know back when I bought the CD the website said the code won't be obtainable after 12/31/14 but is it still usable and valid if I were to give the code to someone for them to get the minion?

I already have the minion on my main account but if I were to give the code to someone eventually would they be able to use it and receive the minion still?

I would think that the code should still be valid considering the nature of where it's coming from. However, if it does have a cut off time, it would be included in the packaging or found on the website itself.

I'm also not sure why you're asking either... It should be no big deal to pass it to a friend of your choice and have them just use it. If it works, awesome, and if it doesn't, oh well. Only reason why you would want it confirmed by someone other than a friend would be if you intend to sell it...

I want to eventually give the code to someone, but I have a lot of friends who I know would love to have it and thus it's difficult to decide who I should give it to; if it's still valid. If it's not valid though I would just end up selling it on ebay as I need the money and the CD's still go for something even if they don't have the code.

Edit: Well..what I don't get is that there is no expiration for the Moogle Suit codes yet they are no longer obtainable and it's unfair to see people selling those in Party finder. :\

Some items have an expiration date on them. If those codes work after that date, it's a bonus. The Moogle Suit codes also came out over a year after the Wind-up Dalamud Minion. I short, technically your code is expired. eBay it at your own risk.

You're not likely to get a response on this and it'd be even less likely for a developer as it's not their thing to handle. If CS comes on and says "Yeah sure." and your code works, after the clearly printed and stated expiration date, then CS is going to have to honor that for every single item code they hand out.

I don't even understand why they have expiration dates. I CAN however understand dates where the code will no longer be obtainable or issued. But to make the code completely obsolete is just a complete waste.

It wouldn't be a limited edition item otherwise. They did that all the time in FFXI.

I don't remember item codes expiring in FFXI. :\ And I know I bought a few albums that offered item code bonuses.
