Macros and Gearsets?

Just use "/hotbar copy". It can pull a hotbar from any class or job and copy it on to whatever hotbar you choose. Set up a hotbar with half of your gear sets (or however you want to set it up) and leave a button for the macro to change the hotbar to the other hotbar setup with the other half. I'll try to give you an example to clear it up.

First, I made two macros /hotbar copy lnc 7 drg 1 and /hotbar copy lnc 8 drg 1. Then I set up my first action bar on dragoon the way I wanted it, including the macro /hotbar copy lnc 7 drg 1. Then I typed /hotbar copy drg 1 lnc 8. It copies my dragoon's action bar to the 8th bar of my lancer (which I never use so it is basically 8 free action bars). I then set up my first action bar on my dragoon again to the way I want it, but with the macro /hotbar copy lnc 8 drg 1. Then type /hotbar copy drg 1 lnc 7. Ideally, the two macros will be on the same button press and it will effectively make it a hotbar swap button. I use controller, but I basically have it setup so that there are two identical bars with the only difference being 4 actions; the two 3 step combos and the macros.

You could use the same concept for gear swapping as it doesn't use a macro line to pull individual actions but rather copies and pulls entire action bars. I recommend using crafter and gatherer bars as spare action bars to save templates.

Oh and you need to have class specific action bars enabled for it t work. Not a big deal once you realize you can just use the same macro command to quickly copy a hotbar for say... your mounts on to each class by setting it up once and copying it to the rest.
