They are a device to keep the majority entertained and give them something to do while they wait for real content to emerge.

That being said I'd like them to hurry up and give us a means of storing the largely useless novelty items we get from them.

Though, if they give us any more horrible mankinis I guess it won't matter since I don't keep them in my inventory anyway.
