Stop trying to limit everyone's ability to do things as simple as using abilities in town because you're over sensitive and have a victim complex. Turn off spells effects and move on

"Using abilities in town" is not the same as deliberately spamming the same ability in an environment where it does nothing useful and is done specifically to annoy / troll other players. Yes, a person can go into their settings and turn off effects to turn off the sound etc, but why are you only blaming the person for not doing this and not also placing the blame on the person who is spamming the ability in the first place? Why should a person be forced to turn off part of their game to avoid being harassed, while the troll is free to do as they please?

Why would i be limited to use/not use abilities? I use aether manipulation to move a bit faster. i used to use dragoon elusive jumps to get to cool places. i use skills to show my friends what they look like when they ask all the time

Just turn off the spells that don't grant any sort of movement benefit in town.
And if your friends really want to "see an ability", it would be simple enough to be out of the town and show them if it's a town-blocked ability.

That's great. But OP still have the tools to stop it. Do you know what i do when i'm sick of people spamming guild recruitement in shout? i blacklist them. You don't see me make a stupid thread asking for the removal of shout chat do you?
Or when i use the dutyfinder and someone is trolling/bad. i leave, i don't make a thread asking for the removal of duty finder

You don't see people asking SE for removal of shout. You do, though, see people ask SE to strongly police gil selling spam. Nobody is asking for removal of abilities but they are asking for maturity (ya, right) or ways SE can police the community to limit the ability of trolls to deliberately set out to ruin other players gaming experience.

Guild recruitment people are also not doing this to annoy you, that would be counter productive. The problem here is people, like yourself, spamming abilities for the purpose of annoying people. Aka, being dicks.

But you're not forced to turn off all spell effect. You can make it show the ones in your group. Which one would argue are the only ones that matter outside of roleplaying

But i don't spam abilities. it just doesn't annoy me because i have the braincells required to turn them off when needed

I was making a referance to brianna wu since OP seem to have the same victim complex, acting like the whole world is against him.
