Sugestion.. Fix Gardening.. and add FC messageing

I can mine and harvest a node with 40 other people. Well see our own nodes and we can only farm from our own instance. However it's kind of an issue when you try to garden in a FC for the first time for a minion only to find out after the fact you cant harvest your own crops.

I can understand settings to keep people from steeling the hard work of others. But if we can gather from our own nodes why can't we harvest our own plats we planted? By Default? I can see a FC giving some people the ability to harvest anyone's plants in the event they cant log on. Why cant it be set to have anyone tend and fertilize the garden but not harvest unless they either planted or are authorized to do so for others.

With time zone differences, why can't we send messages to other FC members with those access rights to harvest for us if we cant log on etc.? Especially if they are not yet in our friend list or are offline due to being 4 ~ 6 hours ahead or behind.

A little bit of a vent. I don't know if these were asked before but.. Damn at least give us a warning message saying that we can't harvest before we waste the time and gill planting things in the FC garden. Just my 2 cents.

It sounds like it was your first time using a garden - So by now you would have discovered the access to the Free Companies gardens are dependent on your rank.
You seemed to have permissions to plant/tend but not to harvest - which in my own opinion is a silly thing for the FC leader to do if you are not a close knit group.

If I were you, I would explain the situation to your FC leader or officer politely, tell them you have lost your seeds via someone else taking them (and the FC log will have their name and the plot they harvested under 'Activity') or let them know you lost your seeds because there was no one active who could get it for you and they withered; whatever the case may be. (Is it possible the person who took 'your' harvest simply hasnt seen you yet and will end up giving it to you when they do see you?)

The gardens belong to the Free Company and as such they may give you permission or not, since they put the Gil up to purchase them after all.

I hope your leader or officers help you out by inter crossing you a new seed/s or by making a special rank so that if someone wanted to grow something in particular they can be assigned that rank for a few days. In the case of my FC - I am the 'Gardener' and when gardens were new I would ask everyone what they wanted. If 4 people wanted a Madragora Queen then I set to work doing that and charged them a few grade 3 soils and/or seeds for the service.

There will be a 'FC board' - but its currently on 'please look forward to it' status.

That only works if there is room open to do so. There isn't on Balmung, that's for sure. I'd like to be able to help a friend not in our FC with coloring her chocobo and whatnot, but I can't really do it.
