This. Absolutly. I've played since release of ARR and I remember being stuck on Stone Vigil normal for about three weeks since I kept getting bad groups in df (and I suppose I wasnt a great tank myself either). In the end I asked two friends for help and we cleared it in like 30 mins. I couldnt progress with the mainstory until I'd beaten that good old dungeon - and we all know that its still easy to get stuck on Garuda normal nowadays. Is that bad? Maybe. But I'm pretty sure the devs (and I agree with them) consider that necessary because that is how they're telling you that story. If the OP doesnt consider that content "to hard" I dont really understand what kind of solution he would suggest - that makes sure no one is locked out BUT still allowes the team to tell us this wonderful stories? Saying "Yeah, I dont care about the story, I care about the fight" is a bit... well...

And still, I like to repeat that point: For the content people are locked out from you want some sort of a premade group anyways. You want "friends" or people who you enjoy playing with - and that sort of people will be fine with clearing content with you or - even better - will learn content with you. Progression locks are mostly affecting people who try to solo this game - and that might be possible until a certain point, I did so myself for quite a while and still had a lot of fun! But now that I've seen at least a bit of FCoB I'm glad that I found a bunch of people I'm feeling comfortable with. So maybe my word doesnt count anymore now but what I learned: It doesnt matter if some content is in your dutyfinderlist when you havent got people to do it with you...
