So, R60 is like 105 per win, and R80 is like 120...that's about 2-5 minutes. That assumes first place which requires a bit of RNG finnicking (weather, items, etc.) Now obviously, Master's is more, but it's also harder and thus less reliable as even the AI becomes more powerful. I've also heard Master's courses tend to be roughly 1.5x to 2x as long which offests their MGP/run a bit from the estimated 150-200 I've heard.
Meanwhile, I can go to Indolent Imperial with about the same amount of prep as a semi-decent second-generation Chocobo and thrash him for ~100 MGP per almost-guaranteed win and then sell all his crappy 2* and 3* cards for 5-10 on top of that and don't even get me started if I get lucky and he drops an extra Gaius or two.
This is all after the expenses of doing said content.
Well, the point being...there's a reason why people are farming Trippy Triad for MGP and neglecting races. Some people are even farming Trippy Triad to get MGP to *raise their damn race chocobo*. It's...honestly sort of pathetic. Isn't this the other major minigame we got?
I think part of this is - players are way better at Triple Triad than expected. But, that isn't good for the other major activity of GS - racing - if it's so outclassed by this unexpected surge of skilled NPC-thwompers. Could we see a small - 1.2x at best - boost to racing MGP to compensate? Preferably alongside the removal of DNF rewards? It feels like the only reason to invest in a high-tier race chocobo is "for the sake of it"...which, you know, for those of us who are race fanatics is fine! But we need more than just fanatics to fill out our queues - NPCs are a great addition, but they're also quite dry to play against.
Plus, you know, cost of lethe water and coverings... (grumble)
