Only games I can think of that have no gold selling spam was Wildstar it had it in the beginning then gold selling spam kinda just died off. Probably due to majority of those who remained didn't buy from them. But Wildstar itself didn't do anything different then FFXIV is doing in terms of preventing it.

I'd love to have a way to take your name out of the player search menus while not removing you from Dungeon ques if that's possible

Wildstar itself kinda died off, so I don't know if that's really a good example. (It also made me miss that our mailboxes are restricted to friends only, so much RMT spam in my mailbox during the first few days of the game I made the mistake of buying)

/anon would be great - there are times where I'd prefer not to be bugged by people while doing my own thing. Especially since I'm sick right now QQ

Ability to make custom filters? (ability to enter strings that would be automatically blocked)
Make it so blacklist affects entire accounts?

SE can't stop it completely but there are ways to mitigate the spam to a significant degree.
