Why do I receive spam gil-seller messages practically every minute when I'm logged in? Solving this problem is not incredibly difficult; dozens of other MMOs have managed to resolve the issue.

Only games I can think of that have no gold selling spam was Wildstar it had it in the beginning then gold selling spam kinda just died off. Probably due to majority of those who remained didn't buy from them. But Wildstar itself didn't do anything different then FFXIV is doing in terms of preventing it.

I'd love to have a way to take your name out of the player search menus while not removing you from Dungeon ques if that's possible

Wildstar itself kinda died off, so I don't know if that's really a good example. (It also made me miss that our mailboxes are restricted to friends only, so much RMT spam in my mailbox during the first few days of the game I made the mistake of buying)

/anon would be great - there are times where I'd prefer not to be bugged by people while doing my own thing. Especially since I'm sick right now QQ

Ability to make custom filters? (ability to enter strings that would be automatically blocked)
Make it so blacklist affects entire accounts?

SE can't stop it completely but there are ways to mitigate the spam to a significant degree.

can you name 1 mmo that has solved this issue? cause I played about 17 so far... they are all the same in regards to rmt spam.

I've only played a few other MMOs before but none of them had this problem.
LOTRO - There was a brief period when the game first launched it had RMT, but then Turbine put in rules to stop it and it never happened again.
DDO - Didn't play when it was first launched, so I don't know if it had a similar brief period of RMT vulnerability, but there was no RMT spam there by the time I started playing.
(Guild Wars - Well, that was a long time ago, so maybe RMT just wasn't as big of a thing then as it is now.)

So far, from my experience, RMT is 1 for 4, with FFXIV being the 1. Anyone saying it can't be stopped doesn't know what they're talking about. It can be stopped, and has been in other games. (And there have already been plenty of other threads describing how.)
