Why don't you all talk about the subject of the thread instead of making your inability to understand a simple joke so painfully obvious?

Because the subject of the thread IS a joke. There is not a single MMO that has thwarted RMT and there is no effective means to stop it. The only thing that can be done is /blist and report every RMT you come across and pray that the GMs cull the herd just a little bit, but the RMT will always come back.
Because rocket science is too mainstream
An addon doesn't mean the problem is solved, that just means someone made a chat filter to stop RMT but it could also be stopping legit messages from getting through and you would never know. They only other way RMT can be stopped in an MMO is if people do not buy the currency in the game. Even crappy games have RMT because people are willing to buy over trying to farm. No MMO is without RMT, hell most online games that aren't even MMOs have this problem.
While it's true that RMT will always exist at some degree or another so long as someone is willing to buy gil with real money, but that doesn't mean that SE should just lay down and let the RMT run wild.An addon doesn't mean the problem is solved, that just means someone made a chat filter to stop RMT but it could also be stopping legit messages from getting through and you would never know. We only have the assurance that accounts are getting banned to go on. If you report a group of bots farming their way up to 50, or report farming bots already at 50, it's likely you'll continue seeing them for at least a full month. And that kind of response time for blatant RMT is embarrassing. Telling the in-game GMs through the ticket system will net you a response in hours, and it usually goes like this,
"Thank you for reporting this RMT behavior. Please place a report through the support section on the ffxiv site. As RMT is such a common issue, we can only give this automated response"
And you'll continue to see the bot farm for weeks.
If you report someone for RMT advertising, you'll get an automated response within 10 min, saying just about the same thing but without telling you to report them somewhere else.
Why don't the ingame GMs have the power to ban these accounts? And if they do, why aren't they doing it?
I have already disabled tells, so ...An addon doesn't mean the problem is solved, that just means someone made a chat filter to stop RMT but it could also be stopping legit messages from getting through and you would never know.
