How to progress in t9 this late in the expac without paying for it?

I am a returning player and i am trying to progress through whatever i can in the endgame before the expac, and despite having now experience in all of t9's phases i am hitting a roadblock.Party finder groups are either composed of people who cannot even get past phase 2 and wipe on it for days,or people that ragequit at the slightest mistake in phase 4.There arent any statics that actually progress through t9 to join-posts in both the official forums, reddit's recruitment forum and using the ingame chat yielded nothing. The FC i am in which has a t10+ static tried to help me,but most refused to focus,overaggroing/fusing golems although they have all killed the encounter and eventually dropped a "we'll do this another time k?"which never came.

So how does one progress through t9 which is obsolete enough to get people to do it(except FARM RUN LINK 10X ACHI OR GTFO) but hard enough so that unorganized groups will just get splattered short of shelling 3m gil to the run sellers?

I truly do sympathize with you, dystopiac, and I wish I had a solid answer. Sad as I am to say it, T9 has been mentioned by Yoshi-P as being slated for a possible nerf in the Bahamut's Favor phase (this was less a confirmation and more him just musing about it), and with most of the mainstay raiders past it, the experience pool is getting quite shallow.

The only advice I can give is don't give up. Keep trying. It took me months to clear T5, and this was nearly trying everyday, joining PF groups, DF groups, and ultimately even training up the party I actually cleared it with. Then even LONGER than that for 7-9 (work and life not really doing much to help me at the time). But keep trying. Don't give up, and don't pay for it. There will be no meaning in a paid victory. You put the work in, now see it through. If I could join you personally, I'd be more than happy to.

I don't believe in luck, so I'll instead say give it all you've got. Then more.

Believe me there are a lot of people who would join a static at the t9 stage. Make PFs to advertise. Meet players in t9 PF groups who share similar interests. Make connections. Forming a static takes blood sweat and tears, it isn't easy and I hope you are up for that challenge and wish u luck xD. There ARE people out there, you just have to find them.

Also like to mention I got my t9 kill in a pf group. OHHH boy the stars had to align for that but it happened. On Odin...of all the dead servers...

I don't mean to go off topic, but Odin is a dead server?

I ask because someone I know was talking about transfering there.

It's not dead it's in fact quite nice and cosy ^^

I feel for everyone in your situation as part of my daily log on routine....I join 3 DF T5s and if it doesnt say 100 Sol I leave asap I tend to do a bit more T9s just because of sheer love for itt....I can tell you its rough but I tend to carry quite a few parties (I'm either tanking or healing) ehh but the best I can say is latch on to those T10 statics that need weapons for like one person in the raid and they do a T9 farm or something....I've seen like 1 or 2 in the past week but I can surely bet that finding a T9 party will be dead.....They need to add a Nael and Twin TT card so that people may go back and farm them thus helping other players with content

With the current upgrades to gear, I see a lot of T9 parties on PF. Try getting to know people, join a raiding FC, raiding linkshell or a static. Run practice runs on PF for practice and try to get good people together. I got a whole lot of new frands and contacts way back when I did T9; something which hadn't been necessary before that.

Get a better FC where people actually help you when you take initiative.

In our FC we're currently in the process of organising regular events for all members who need this turn (and are willing to study it and capable of beating it). We try to make these as static-like as possible, usually running one weekly event with the same setup so that the group can progress. Our first learning group won like this in 3 events (5,5 hours total) with 5 first wins and 3 helpers. I definitely recommend forming a learning static for this turn, and finding a FC that supports this kind of progression. In my opinion, it's detrimental for the whole FC when people get left behind like that.

Thing is-why should i not pay the 3 million and just be done with it?Then i won't have the magical "100 sold tag of shame"over my head each time i go in the dungeon and be able to join actual groups of skilled people that farm the content and proving my worth there-if i botch they're free to kick me.Why should i shackle myself on trying to be a leader(when i'm a bad one)where i can just cough the money up and try to be the best grunt i can and just learn the tactic and follow orders?

Hmmm not only Fc also make friends, make friends, make friends. DF it (got to P4 after multi kill xp with a random group... if one monk and the whm wouldnt have been clue less and had asked for advice >.<).
Announce yourself as possible static member (be willing to start with a group in P2 maybe?). Get raid linkshells.

I personally am the type to join trainings groups... but gotta agree last "training p4" people actually had no clue on early phases I rofld a little when they placed meteors on each other and stood under the second heavensfall or even got pushed in wall at the first.... If a lot of people do faults its not worth advicing... they'd end up calling me flamer.

As others mentioned... find people that are actually "willing" to help if they are a little less xp than you have the kill or are at same spot wont matter as long as you all get the team going
